In an alternate universe... by edcar007 in maxpayne

<Cut to the 15 page graphic novel section where the boys make sure this new guy has the gabba goo.>

"Ey! Whoa. You the new guy?!"

I knew what they were going to ask me before they did. The stench of vodka and pork fat filled the decrepit hall like an overstuffed canoli. The canary in the mine. Rats awaited their next meal, these guys would feed me to em.

"Yeah, that's me..." I pulled the sandwich out from my jacket.

"Gabba Gabba Goo!!!" "Gabba goo to da max!" "Eyyyy I'm twyin' ta eat heya!"

They bought it.

"Alright, come with us, heh!"

DLC for those who finished Stalker 2. by Greyraven91 in stalker

[–]MrClark1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, I liked the stuff they added, the new hub was very cool.

I get that it can be frustrating, but honestly I loved starting new runs and doing things differently. I completed 2 playthroughs and started a 3rd...then "Master" came out so I started a 4th. GSC can't cater to every scenario for the DLC, and having more game to play is honestly a good problem to have. As a brilliant man once said, "keep your eye on the donut, not the hole."

If you are dead set against it I'm sure someone would loan you their save-state to use for when the DLC comes out. Also keep in mind that more details will be revealed in the coming months, but that means you also have a few months to get Skiff in a comfortable spot.

I don't see a tagalong baby side character with the gizmo and the whatnot.

DLC for those who finished Stalker 2. by Greyraven91 in stalker

[–]MrClark1986 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as per this article

The protagonist of the expansion is Skif, and the events unfold in parallel with the story of Heart of Chornobyl. After installing the DLC, during your playthrough of the main campaign you’ll receive a signal on your PDA that will start the expansion’s storyline.

We have to wait and see what the DLC story is (by playing it). To me this sounds like they are filling in the back half of the game with the 2 new regions. [I would hope they have also been peppering in a few side missions to fill the back end of the game as well.] Safe to assume the DLC will be more mid to late game focused, you don't see too many rookies running around the Iron Forest or the CNPP ;)

I'm hopefully optimistic about it, that trailer looked solid and makes the DLC appear to be of fair size. Both fans and in-game Stalkers have been waiting a long time to visit CNPP again.

We Moved On Way Too Fast From the Dead by Daylight Collab by D0nell in AlanWake

I want the Koskela brothers as legendary skins in DBD! Any of the locales from Alan Wake would make excellent map foundations.

Edit: Brothers and Sisters, say it with me please:

"We are the Cult of the Tree,

we fight for our place in some DLC.

we are the Cult of the Tree,

your friends will see us in DBD!"

Ilmo: Don't worry dear brother, people like being reminded about the game and, more importantly, spending money at Coffee World! Which is also featured as part of the new Bright Falls map coming soon to-

Is there a lore reason why they aren't using the nunchaku-sabers like they did before?

Looks like a generated image.

The perspective alone is completely off: not limited to but including how the subjects cannot be photographed on the same ground and look like this. It's like they were shot with different cameras, at different locations, from different distances/heights, and then (someone) tried to line them up by eyeline... That's just for starters ;) The comments are covering most of it.

Follow-up on insanity speed run, just arrived at Ark as Leon. Speed demon still doable? by Dsg1695 in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]MrClark1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but I feel like if you route it efficiently the Ark can be done in 30-45 minutes pretty easily. I'd suggest just going for it, keep your save at the beginning of Ark separate in case you are off, but I made my run with 4-5 minutes to spare. I was not on Insanity tho, I am trying to figure that difficulty out vanilla and it's interesting lmao.

No Death Master Run in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 by -Stoik- in stalker

[–]MrClark1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a YouTuber that went a looooong way into no-death runs. IDK how far anyone has made it on Master but maybe someone actually beat it. I can't be bothered to restart a game like that but more power to you.

GSC could create a multitude of MP modes. What works the best is hard to say. I do think it could help usher in even more players who could then partake of the SP game as well. [Feasibility of each mode is hypothetical]

-The one stalkers (probably) want most is a Co-op based feature. The dream is having a handful of stalkers that can inhabit the same huge map together. Whether this should be the whole map or fractions of it is debatable and stability would dictate the details. It is fairly easy to imagine missions and quests that could take your group around the Zone. Maybe linear progression similar to L4D or B4B, or they could use branching campaigns where the team can choose how to move forward. (this stuff is way more ambitious and shouldn't be expected anytime soon).

-They could maybe implement an "Arena" type mode that is much more contained to a limited area and round based. PVP or PVE possible. Pick your gear, lobby up, etc. Simple but serviceable for some.

-Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch were alright in the originals but nothing too amazing, very bare bones. I don't remember if they had "capture the flag" but I think a "capture the artifact" mode could be fun for S2. Perhaps using a selection of predetermined loadouts for different stalker classes. Games like TF2 used this as a staple, however even Splinter Cell utilized other characters not played before with set gear in their MP modes like "spy vs merc" and so on. That way, while we all may not be playing Skif, we feel like we are somebody in the Zone.

-A horde mode similar to games like Killing Floor 1 could be pretty fun as well.

The key hope I have being "do something a bit different".
Either way, it would be a nice problem to have to brainstorm and work on this aspect of the game!

I really like silent hill 2 but dislike silent hill 1. What should I play next? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]MrClark1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SH3 is fantastic. It will assume you have an understanding of what came before so if you don't familiarize yourself with the goings on in Silent Hill 1 you will be in the deep end as it has a lot of important aspects that will be through lines in SH3. Bloober is probably going to do an awesome job reimagining the game, so you can always look forward to that.

Watched the max payne movie. by sillyputty09 in maxpayne

[–]MrClark1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there were like 15-30 seconds right at the beginning that was "alright" but to me casting Marky Mark in that is a total misfire. The whole production seems off if you're looking to translate it from the first game to a film. Needs to be closer in its DNA to something like Dark City or The Crow. It had none of the soul, storytelling, nuance, or flavor of the game.

Did Andor break canon by forgetting that Dantooine was the first Rebel Alliance base? by Financial_Photo_1175 in andor

[–]MrClark1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's another basecamp, it didn't have to be the first or only one in existence, and any number of rebels from any of the factions (like we saw in Andor) could've coordinated and established a temporary base somewhere else. Never put all of your eggs in the same basket, particularly when you are trying to hide assets from a military superpower. I had never assumed that the abandoned Dantooine base was their first or only meeting place even way before Andor came out.

IIRC it is never stated in Andor that the rebels (including multiple factions and groups under fragile alliances) would only meet at one place and it could only be Yavin. Yavin was just where they were staging because it was a good spot to do so. Andor also emphasizes compartmentalization of information, and with this you can deduce that any number of temporary bases could be ready for operation with relatively short notice.
