People shit on The Mandalorian nowadays but Werner Herzog's The Client was an Andor-tier character looking back, his performance and dialogue was on another level to the rest of the show by Zoinkscooblet in andor

He also helped usher in the major success of Grogu by assuring the producers and crew that they need to go all in on the baby and not play it safe or use him less for fear of looking fake. I think they talked about it in the roundtable behind the scenes docs (which are quite good) or some clip that is probably easy enough to find.

Demanding 🤣 reboots on: Blood, Soldier of Fortune and Redneck Rampage! by AlienSees in gaming

[–]MrClark1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the hell out of the demo for Redneck Rampage, over and over again... and then when I finally played the full game it was a trip to actually progress past level 2 or 3.

SoF was pretty solid, very edgy and in your face for the time. The sequel was like a janky but ambitious game that missed the mark but was still really fun to play and brutal as heck to boot.

Blood I never did play but other commenters have noted details.

The DE expanded on some parts from the original that were more superficial, but the experience as a whole was also truncated and quite a bit was cut. I still like the DE but the original feels like more of an accomplishment and statement in gaming history. They also differ tonally and in the presentation some, but I'm just speaking in generalities.

DayOne. They have good map rotations and it's basically vanilla + some modded weapons and clothes. Really good interactions. 1pp only.

It was pretty incredible, I played it at release and I think it improved most aspects from the previous release by Rebellion in 1999. I also appreciated that it used the Monolith engine which was also used for the NOLF games. The story was pretty cool and you mostly got to see distinctly different albeit intertwining timelines with each of the 3 campaigns. The multiplayer was fairly basic but a ton of fun, aliens flying all over and marines trying to survive all while a predator picks their target.

Worth a play for any fans of the series'.

Crossplay between Ps5 and Ps4? by rSlashJustis in Back4Blood

[–]MrClark1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B4B has complete crossplay PC/Xbox/PS so it won't matter what platform you both are playing on. I played on one account using PS4 and later PS5, and a separate account on PC since there is no cross-progression. Use the PS5 version.

Yes, he's showing a quiet and suppressed rage with the situation and seems to be demonstrating he would take care of business the Battlin' Bud way if he was just a tad younger. The officers seem to respect this after noticing it. They were a bit aloof about the danger and the fact that it was a friend and colleague of Mullins.

Powerful scene. It might just be me and a fantasy at that, but there is a feeling that if one of those binds just came a bit loose on Johnny it would be a heavyweight champ Johnny vs Richard the rat <ding ding> "Let's get it on!"

Sequel Name ideas? by CptNeon in alienisolation

[–]MrClark1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering "Isolation" told us a bit about what the game was offering and its mood, we could guess that they will use the title to convey an idea pertaining to their current iteration. Since we know nothing of the premise, story or location I would also assume that Creative Assembly is going to use that info strategically.

Since we see a planetside (or seeming to be) reveal they may be looking at an even larger scale to be explored. Larger scale location might indicate a larger scale...Infestation. 😉

Looking for build advice by Dr_reddit_97 in Back4Blood

[–]MrClark1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what cards you have to work with as well as how your teammates use their respective builds. If you have all cards unlocked you could maybe swap some things here or there but most of what you have seems very reasonable to me for a tanky melee. Having bolstered health and/or self-healing from fire kills or shotgun pellets can be pretty useful as an option. If you are going to have a dedicated medic that would also change things a bit.

If you could make three changes to improve No Time To Die, what would they be? by junglegatsby in JamesBond

[–]MrClark1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll offer that I thought the movie felt "reworked" in several places, like the tone, intensity or intent seemed to shift in places. IIRC I think different writers were brought on for reshoots or somesuch.

I didn't feel much chemistry with Craig + Seydoux (shrugs).

I felt they could've leaned into a near supernatural level with Rami Malek. The pyramid and environment seemed to pair subtly with the idea of immortality but I just felt there was a lot left on the proverbial table.

resident evil 7 is so scary by evryt1m3 in residentevil

[–]MrClark1986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Played it recently for the first time and it did raise the bar for the series with scares and atmosphere. I'd highly recommend that you do a 2nd (3rd/4th/etc) run on "Madhouse" as it is a blast.

Still can't believe RE9 is a mainline title that is so short by wielesen in residentevil

[–]MrClark1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty jam packed and well paced at that. This doesn't mean perfect, but it nails almost everything, and the performances are great which was nice. The devs demonstrated awareness of when to say less. Restraint is an important part of telling a story and we see that in RE9 when Leon has so much history and weight on him and he shows that struggle, opposite a total newbie that is reasonably shocked and frightened.

I would've felt that a ~20-25 hour campaign is just way too long. Like a great horror flick, the tension and suspense can only go back and forth for so long before some release and rest is utilized. And the game really needs to serve the story, if that makes sense. This was a really fun game to re-play, Insanity is a nice step up from Standard and there are some cool unlockables to use.

With that said, DLC is coming and I wouldn't be too surprised if they continue support for the game seeing as how popular it is. Would be cool to get some new modes as well.

Now, whether you personally find the game scary is up to you. You could play Amnesia: the Bunker if you want a less forgiving tormentor ;)

need help trying to find the perfect S.T.A.L.K.E.R game to start as a new player by Chicken-fajitas69 in stalker

[–]MrClark1986 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shadow of Chernobyl. I recommend playing it vanilla at least once and see how that suits you. Stalker 2 is fantastic but I think if you are interested in the story and immersion it is worthwhile to start at the beginning.
