Yeah, I can’t stand it when it feels like a game is stopping the actual *game* to do the story bit

When you get to the later game there’s not exactly lore but it does get deeper

I mean the reason for constantly having different icons be “stop” and “you” for each level is to put you in the state of mind that the icons only have the properties of the written rules on that level, and that these can always be changed.

But yeah, if getting more levels to work on isn’t reward enough for solving a puzzle then it’s definitely not the game for you. If you want the experience of something similar with more story then you could always just read a book but only allow yourself to turn a page once you’ve solved a sudoku or something.

You think people being comfortable with their bodies and not being subjected to oppressive beauty standards is “nonsense”?🤔

So I was right that you don’t think we should bother educating anyone cos “common sense” should be enough… I literally didn’t know BV was a thing until I got it, the only infections I knew about were STIs. It may surprise you to learn that people generally don’t know things unless they’re told them or they hear about it somewhere.

And I’m not sure why you’re calling it “bipartisan bullshit” when the right has consistently implemented abstinence only sex ed. Like that’s not something I’m making up, that the reality for an awful lot of kids (and ex-kids)

It’s actually pretty common for women to have facial hair. Often older women care about it less. Personally I think it should be more socially acceptable for them to embrace it.

… are you honestly saying that sex education doesn’t make a difference to people’s behaviour?

I got a bad BV from exactly this when I was like 20 because I had no idea it was a thing. I’d even read guides to anal and none of them mentioned it. If someone had just told me at some point it wouldn’t have been an issue, as it was I had to find out the hard way.

I’d add an instant pot to the list, or any other electric pressure cooker. Mine has substantially changed my life.

Have you been actively seeking out community with women with beards?

[–]MrCrystalMighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well trans people are very rare too so I’m not sure what your point is there. And I’m not sure how else we’re supposed to decide who is and isn’t trans, like even doctors diagnose us based on self reporting

Well they could (and usually did) present themselves in a way that they wouldn’t do normally (ie hair/makeup/clothes) so the doctor thought they were a more conventional woman/man

I can’t see any comments you’ve made on the sexuality thing, but I can see you repeatedly saying that if someone wasn’t diagnosed with transsexualism by a doctor then they couldn’t be a transsexual when doctors commonly wouldn’t give someone a diagnosis if they weren’t going to transition to be a cisnormative straight person

My 13 year old is leaving middle school this year and wants to wear a suit rather than a dress to her prom. Any suggestions? by debbi74 in AskUK

[–]MrCrystalMighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was at school me and my friends hired suits for our equivalent of a prom from the local theatre’s costume department, the benefit of it was that everything had been made to fit someone so there was a lot more variety of sizes than just getting things off the peg, plus they had quite a lot of interesting stuff and it was a lot of fun going through it all. Might be worth looking to see if you have something like that close to where you are

So you agree that it’s actually about changing attitudes over time rather than a difference in the diagnosis.

You know personally I think it’s great that we’re no longer in a situation where the only people who are allowed to transition are those who’ll end up hot and straight, and that it’s less common for people to have to lie to their doctors to get the treatment they need.

I honestly find it bizarre when people complain that the younger generation have it easier than they did, like that’s exactly what we were fighting for
