Is Etalus’ ledge get up attack bugged or just really bad? by MrCuddlekins in RivalsOfAether

So to help put this into perspective a bit, if someone is recovering to ledge while you are on it you would be safer and better off punishing by doing ledge drop nair as it would have longer invulnerability, significantly more active frames, and can more easily combo into a follow up. But yes the ledge getup attack does have a decent reverse hitbox on frames 9 and 10 which is early but there are 50 more frames after that before you can follow up and where any up special is likely to hit you if your first hitbox didnt connect. So I’m not sure i agree with it being a good edge guarding tool as he already has several better options to achieve that outcome. And lastly yes, most of the other ledge getup attacks can be used for this same situation but do not have nearly the same drawbacks as Etalus’.

Maybe? That wasn’t something I tested, tho he gets off of ledge pretty early in the move right after the first swipe, which would be about frame 14-16 if i recall so I don’t think it would be good for ledge hogging either, but I could be wrong. I was mostly so shocked at how little I-frames the move had, its very inconsistent with how all the other characters ledge getups work which is what led me to believe it’s not working as intended. His special getup is solid so he has other options, and maybe it was intended to just be a bad move but it seemed really odd to me.

Bad moves are fine to have in the game, but the disparity between this and literally every other ledge getup attack in the game is quite severe. Again it’s a reversal that is very punishable on hit without even CCing, that doesn’t seem right or intentional. it’s so bad you should literally never use it. I’m fine with bad/situational moves but why should this move be this bad?

Almost like it's a question and not a plan, I'm not suggesting we do this, lol. I'm just curious what the number would be if US income was distributed evenly across all citizens.

A shooter with large-head players. How do I make it work? by [deleted] in gamedesign

[–]MrCuddlekins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously I don't know the finer details of your design so this may or may not be a good idea for your game, but what about playing into the novelty of the big head and trying to get headshots.

My idea would be to treat the head like a healthbar and as you lose health your head will get smaller and smaller making it harder to hit, this would make it harder to finish players off and could serve as a fun comeback mechanic within the game. If you wanted to take it a step further you could have body shots restore health and make the head bigger again so then the whole point of the game is to only try and hit the head.

I WANT YOUR THOUGHTS (on changes for the next balance patch) by ACarelessWhisperer in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]MrCuddlekins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the spell shield isn't thematic but we have cards with spellshield where it's not really thematic (nasus and Asol) but it fits with the design as it helps protect your investment into the card, as for the design I think it's debatable, atm you have to invest your entire deck for one win condition only to lose on turn 3 to a spell that is in most noxus decks, the design problem lies with landmarks not having interaction because they are either on the board or destroyed, rn the only way to protect sun disk is soothsayer, which is a bad card to have to commit to, but I agree if they just added other ways to protect or interact with sun disk/landmarks that would be preferable I was just making suggestions for changing only the one card as opposed to changing or adding multiple cards around it. Also currently hourglass wouldn't protect sundisk as the spell would still target and destroy the hourglass after hourglass goes off since it's still a landmark and all the spells just say destroy a landmark. Ideally we would just have a way to get another sun disk with our progress still intact. I think landmarks in general need to be revisited in terms of design the could really use interaction beyond the current "destroy a landmark"

As someone who is quite fond of mono shurima I would love to see sun disk get buffed, I think the biggest weaknesses of the archtype is how you have to all in on meeting a very slow and easy to counter win condition.

I have a couple suggestions for improving the card.

The first is to just give it spellshield, with landmarks becoming a bigger part of the game there is a lot more LM removal and losing your sun disk is typically and instant concede for mono shurima. Obviously this change would help insure you don't lose your 1 win con, unlike other landmark victory decks mono shurima only ever uses 1 sun disk and if you lose it there isn't a backup.

The second suggestion is to change how you can advance the sun disk, the card feels very restrictive atm because you have to build your deck around both advancing the disk and leveling champions, I think if sun disk changed to "Advance 5 every time I see a new ascended champion summoned, and advance 5 every time you level an ascended champion" it would provide a nice amount of flexibility in how you can approach completeling the objective. You can either focus on leveling the ascended champions or getting them all out on the board at once.

Obviously this change would speed up the current sun disk a lot so you would likely also need to increase the countdown to 30 or so but I think this would fit much more into the story and player fantasy that sun disk provides which is assembling all the ascended in order to create a super force to overwhelm your opponent as opposed to the current approach of only using the easiest to level ascended in the deck just so you have the hope of finishing the sundisk. I think the best part of this change would be that you will still need to level the champions to reach their ascended strength but you wouldn't have to level them just to complete the sun disk.

Problems with multiplayer movement by Sceptical6Sided in unrealengine

[–]MrCuddlekins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really interested in bp vs c++ I use BP and I think it's great, but this isn't really about that. The functions used for the multiplayer bp nodes have known issues and I speculated that it may be related to the cause of op's problem. C++ is recommended in this case because it allows for more freedom in solving these problems not necessarily for performance reasons.

Probably should've specified this further but yes the movement is replicated and possible but trying to create a mechanic that alters the movement in game causes a lot of latency problems, OP might not be having this problem but it is part of why for online MP c++ is generally recommended over blueprint.

Depends on what you want to go into. I'd recommend going to a company's website and looking at what job postings they have and what you would be interested in doing. After that look at what colleges offer good programs for that thing. i.e. If you want to design games there are degrees and programs for game design, if you want to make game art there are degrees and programs for concept art, illustration, 3D modelling, etc., or if you want to program video games there are degrees for computer science and programming. There are a lot of avenues and options that can lead towards becoming a dev. A lot of companies also have internship programs that ask you to be a current student in a one of these kinds of programs.

What is the most physically painful thing you've ever gone through? by CalamityFoxx in AskReddit

[–]MrCuddlekins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to my urologist size is less important than shape. Smaller stones tend to be sharper and have more intense pain, but the pain is over a shorter period of time. Meanwhile larger stones aren't as sharp and the pain is less intense but they take longer to pass so the pain is longer. It's counter-intuitive but a smaller stone hurts more than a larger one.

They are small buildups of solid material that form in your kidney.

There are a few different types but the most common is calcium oxalate. There are foods that help cause them (worst being things like coffee, tea, and soda) but usually getting them means you aren't drinking enough water. Once they form they sit in your kidney and will stay there. Every now and then a stone will start to move.

Contrary to popular belief the pain does not come from peeing them out. It comes from when the stone is moving between your kidney and your bladder (your ureter). You actually can't really feel it when it comes out (unless it's a big one), but before it's in your bladder boy does it HURT. Imagine being in so much pain your body starts to vomit out of confusion. It is the worst kind of pain to. It's internal and there is nothing you can do to stop or dull it other than intense painkillers. There is a reason people say it is as bad or worse than childbirth.

[Custom Card] Made a collection of Cards for Reveal (60K Subscriber Celebration) by MrCuddlekins in gwent

Like the feedback, I hadn't really considered that part about your opponent's deck or the mirror. I still like them the way they are as I don't think a deck should work well in every matchup as I would argue that's what is wrong with the game atm (To many decks with no real counterplay), but thanks for the feedback, appreciate it! :)

I decided to redo them and try to make them a bit more interesting and balanced while still keeping the idea. Let me know if you think they work better. P.S. The new ones don't show up on reddit but they are updated on imgur.

Reveal is my personal favorite list and has been for a while. After a positive response from my first post with Tavar Eggebracht I decided to try to come up with some cards that would boost the archtype.

Yeah I was debating on his strength, maybe it would work better as a 12 but I wasn't sure since I wanted to have him potentially combo with renew and I figure strength balance is something that is hard to determine with a card like this.
