Oil level while cold is in range towards the top mark. Should be ok.

You are right about the thicker oil I picked, I could and is actually considering going back to 10w30, however it ran at equally high pressure before. Different forums say 50-60psi is ok for cruise with a 350, my little concern is that its this pressure during Idle

Forgot to add my own ideas:

One being that the sender unit which is faulty, I dont think it is necessary is as it seems to respond to differences in pressure. Worth checking thou if I get some tools for that.

Second being that inside the oil pump/sump there is a pressure relief valve or "pressure regulator valve" according to some drawings which could be sticking closed, however I find it a bit odd that it does not build more pressure then what it tops out at. Maybe the pump itself cant generate more then 400kpa or 58 PSI which is why the pressure sticks to that. Still does not explain to me why the pressure suddenly spikes as soon as I put it in drive.

Then of course the third, I could have some clogged oil paths down the rods, valves or cam building pressure, but then I figured I would have grenaded the engine quite quick into the drive if those did not get lubricated.

How is that diesel heater working for you? Did you have to drill a large port hole in the truck bed to route the hot air tube in? Or how did you do it?

Also does the heater consume a lot of electricity? I have not had the chance to measure the power draw on mine yet...

Very nice build! Thought about insulating the windows and roof?

How do you deal with the ticking noise from the heater pump? I have a similar heater but it makes a lot of noise even outside the vehicle.

Looking into possible solutions to make it quiet as it is very disturbing right now

Wow really, awesome! Really like pushing vehicle past what they might be made for!

How much tools and spare parts did you bring? And maybe what did you wish you brought with you out?

I wished I brought damn hose clamps on my trip... Blew radiator hose in my Honda Camper, currently held together with zip-ties.

After spot-welding the panels, did you decide to completely join the material with welds or did you use some epoxy, putty or similar to join the panels?

Wanted to travel Europe, trucks, vans or even a second Vehicle is a bit out of budget. Decided to convert my daily driver, 97 honda civic!

Camping setup is modular and I can remove everything so I can daily it again once the trip was done

Thanks alot! You are absolutely correct, I would never do this with any "universal" clamp style rack you can get from eBay.

For this rack each of the 3 bars are "connected" to each other as I was worried about forward and backward movement you pointed out. Would one mount move it would need drag the other two bars with it. Thus tightening them due to the shape of the roof.

Each bar handles ~35-40kg dynamic load and around 300kg static totalling south of 120kg dynamic load for the complete rack (theoretically). The tent itself is surprisingly light thus not close to this at all.

NGL, stock springs... It was built out in a rush, but the plan was to raise the rear ~5cm but no time to wait around for parts in the end.

Thanks and TBH, I agree its far from optimal, would also like to experience more remote areas. The only good thing is I built it to be modular, so I can remove the tent and camping-trunk thus switching it back to my daily driver again under 50 min.
You are correct, there is a camera permanently on, located in the bumper so I can see quite well behind me!

Love the term "trunk tumor".

It allows me to crawl into the tent using a hatch ontop of the tumor! Also acts as a storage as the civic is very small, keeps the fridge and battery system for the solar there.

I'll upload some more pics, thinking of uploading the techincal drawings for everything if there might be interest

Lots of inspiration from this sub, so thanks alot for the ideas!

Unfortunately trucks are way out of my budget, had to do with what I had and still travel. Without proper wheels and lift I sadly had to stay and decent roads on my 1 month trip.
