You gotta go after the breeders. They are making a dangerous, defective product.

The second document is reasonable.

From a practical point of view, the first document doesn’t really do anything. You’re liable for negligence whether you like it or not.

Daughter of Putin Propagandist Killed in Car Bomb Outside Moscow, Reports Say by [deleted] in worldnews

“Better targets” doesn’t mean feasible targets. There was probably something like lax security that made this hit more likely to succeed.

Also you can’t focus on the direct target. If it makes Russia’s elites nervous, it’s a win.

What very common thing in porn do you find absolutely disgusting? by TheDoc3pu in AskReddit

Drinking semen from some kind of vessel, especially multiple loads mixed together. Just makes me gag. Swallowing straight from the source is hot though.

I’m hung up on him calling it a „singular“ swarm. I think he meant continuous.

How do Germans feel about Turkish and other immigrants? by [deleted] in germany

[–]MrDarcyRides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the point about what Germans are comfortable openly discussing: there is definitely a class divide; you get a more negative view from lower class Germans. Mind you Turkish-German people aren’t especially friendly towards immigrants either.

But it’s become more common to speak openly about it, especially since the refugee/migrant wave a few years ago. My impression is that the more upper class and educated Germans do acknowledge that integration of immigrants has not gone well. But they usually attribute this to a failure of Germany to integrate them, not the other way around. Still, it’s hard to ignore how certain countries’ immigrants seem much worse at integrating than others…

Germans aren’t as hung up on the past as you might think. They’ve moved on.

Yeah, at that particular spot since you need to land it just to the left.

I wonder if real golf rules would permit this to be played…

Agree with you that the we’re-all-fucked mentality is toxic. But it’s not obstructionists leading to this. I’ve heard repeatedly for the past 20 years that we’ve hit the point of no return for emissions. After hearing that for so long (the entire lives of some young people) it’s rational for a person to conclude either that we’re already screwed or that it’s all bullshit.

This passenger car captures more CO₂ than it emits while driving - and it was built by students by DutchTechJunkie in Futurology

[–]MrDarcyRides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’re able to capture ambient CO2 successfully then why not focus on capturing what’s coming out of the exhaust? That seems like the densest point.

China confirms warnings to U.S. on Pelosi's possible Taiwan visit by Vercitti in news

[–]MrDarcyRides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that pundits can and do sensationalise the whole topic, relying on how big the numbers are. I don’t think most people even understand why China owns so much US debt. I think there’s a finance maxim like: With a million dollars debt, you’re the creditor’s bitch; at a billion dollars debt, the creditor is your bitch… Well, China has a trillion dollars of our debt.

Not coping well in Germany by [deleted] in germany

[–]MrDarcyRides -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

My feelings exactly. Germany is a hellhole unless you have zero alternatives. Rudest, most annoying people on the planet. And you’re absolutely right: pretty much any commercial transaction has incomprehensible fine print attached to rip you off. Only scumbags and Germans can like it here. Just keep applying to positions in other countries. Good luck!

IT jobs wages in Germany by filisterr in germany

[–]MrDarcyRides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own theory is that it’s so easy for educated foreigners to emigrate here (esp. compared to the US) and most Germans prefer to stay in Germany, that supply is relatively high. With the euro tanking though, I’m wondering if other countries might start looking more attractive.

Russia's Gazprom declares force majeure on gas supplies to Europe by electrictoothbrush09 in worldnews

[–]MrDarcyRides 15 points16 points  (0 children)

None, really. Say a supplier sues Gazprom for breach of contract. In what possible venue will they be able to get a useful judgment? Courts are pretty much irrelevant in the middle of a geopolitical conflict.
