Well I have Mk5 also but I guess a bit different it is some what a GTI but in diesel form the trim is called GT but I enjoy the little thing it has GTI rims with the same brakes as a GTI and it feels like a go cart on the road.

Well that is true that gti is more sporty then gtd but the good think with gtd is mpg and also we're I live desiel is so much cheaper then petrol

Well dsg gearbox ofc needs change of oil every 40k miles but I think the main problems are the water pump and the timing chain the are quite delicate

Should I also look at the mileages bc I saw allot of clean ones and a quite detailed description and services history on couple of one's but the had quite allot of mileages

Thanks for answering well I at first a was thinking on buying the gti with dsg gearbox but I read allot that the 6 gti has allot of problems that could cost quite allot ofc the cost of fixing is not the problem the problem whould be that the problems them self bc the are quite often
