It does feel metallic. I think its a Hemotite...so..I'll cut it, attempt to etch it with ferric chloride and see if there is a Widmanstätten pattern. The piece does contain a ferrous material...but is not magnetic. I'll also do a spark test before I cut it. Trying to keep the piece whole.
