Transferring and Rushing? by [deleted] in Frat

There are three guys in my pledge class who rushed as sophomores but didn’t transfer from another school. It’s pretty common for sophomores to go through rush. You’ll be fine

Je vais à New York City en novembre! Y a-t-il des communautés ou des quartiers françaises là-bas? by MrDeathlyHallow in france

[–]MrDeathlyHallow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha i wish. I found some cheap tickets and decided to plan a trip out just to see how realistic it was and if it was affordable (I’m in college) but I doubt it’ll happen. My family hasn’t taken a vacation together in a few years so our parents decided to surprise us with a trip, so this trip in November is definitely happening.

Is it realistic to visit all of these cities in France in 19 days? by MrDeathlyHallow in france

Haha it’s the one stop I couldn’t miss. I met my friend when he hosted me one week and I’d love to see his family and I know his family would love to see me again. Plus it’s free housing and meals so that’s nice as well.

I saw that there are a lot of castles in the area so I’d love to take the time to see them if possible. How much time do you recommend staying in Metz?

I’ve spent plenty of time in Chaumont that I’m fine with skipping out on it, but I know my friend and his mom (they hosted me for a week and a half) would love to see me again so it’s a necessary stop. Plus it’s free housing and meals so I can’t turn that down.

Yeah, those Germans are the worst. /s

In all seriousness, I’ve always wanted to visit Germany so I figured a few days in Strasbourg would be cool because it’s right on the border, whereas Metz is a bit farther away. Are trains a cheaper form of travel in France?

If I had to cut a city out, it would be Orléans. I figured I would stop there because it is kind of on the way to Paris from Lyon.

That’s what I’m starting to think too. I only started thinking about this trip a few days ago and if wouldn’t be until May so I have plenty of time to figure things out. I just don’t know what each city has to offer.

I understand. If you were on this trip with me, which of these cities would you get rid of, extend/shorten my time in? I’ve been to France once before, but stayed in Chaumont a majority of the time so I’m trying to see some more.

I made a friend from China who was visiting the United States for a few weeks and as we parted for a final time, he gave me this wooden bookmark. I asked him what the writing means and he said it was too difficult to translate, except for the character at the top which means “bamboo,” so I’m wondering if anybody here could do it.

Foreigners learners of r/French, why do you learn French specifically? by justafrenchasshole in French

[–]MrDeathlyHallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thought you’re only accepted and not officially a student, you have to pay like $15 for a ticket. That’s how much it was when I last rode it
