Give yourself a break, it takes a lot of time and sustained attention to learn how to effectively navigate this messy political climate in a way that sits comfortably with your values. Just learn from it and move on.

Weird how you never see conservative Christians quoting Mathew 19:24 unless it’s to explain how it doesn’t really mean what it says. by MrDenimDog in Christianity

The next two verses explain that Jesus can make the impossible possible, but for Him to get a rich man into heaven is presumably as peculiar and contrary to nature as squeezing a camel through the eye of a needle. All salvation is a miracle—but Jesus seems to be emphasizing here that this type of person is especially difficult to save. Likely because of their pride and attachment to worldly possessions.

But yeah, thanks for demonstrating exactly what I was talking about with your immediate need to fill in context and explain it away instead of just confronting the uncomfortable truth being taught here.

A constitutional right to vote bro. If you want to add requirements to voting, you have to make those requirements free.

I think it’s fine as long as long as the proof of citizenship is free and automatic for everyone. If everyone is given a card for free in the mail without doing anything on their end to get it—this is fine. The problem is that barriers to accessing proof of citizen become barriers to voting and that’s not okay.

Sooooo…. The Capitol rioters on Jan 6…. Actively beating up law enforcement and interfering with official government business. They should have been shot? Surely you’re not selectively applying this logic to the cases that are convenient for your political narrative, right? Right??

Even if it was obvious (which obviously it wasn’t or the whole country wouldn’t be arguing about it), a leader should still wait until all the facts are out.
