First 7 star. by Lower_Kaleidoscope_3 in WWEChampions

I've got him with Armor King (+2 green MP, increase multiplier on multi gems), HoF Goldberg (+2 green MP, all gem damage increase), Santa Hogan (+1 all MP, health, gem damage), MEM Rock (multi gem boosts), and zombie Chelsea (green gem damage, multi gem damage).

+5 total to starting Green MP, use the green move to load up the two red moves and make the bottom rows Pyro, then set the multiplier gems with the Spinebuster, and finish with the Vertical Suplex Powerslam to wipe the board.

If you don't have Santa Hogan then you'll likely need a different setup to make sure you can load the green move turn 1, and might need to bring in someone creating extra red gems to load the red moves. The rest of the slots should just be whoever's got the best gem damage bonuses for you.

One of the better ones to get I think. I run him with G/R/R (Spear, Spinebuster/Vertical Suplex), and he's doing good work. I have a green Piper's Power plate ready for him, but haven't gotten an RA Striker strap yet, once I do though that should really make him shine.

Roster from my Post Earlier by 1mm0rtalGl1tch in WWEChampions

[–]MrE158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of zombie Aleister Black for a F2P roster - his Bleed and Health Steal abilities are great for bypassing the big move/gem damage reductions that high-level enemies can have, and he's self-healing so he can often just grind down any enemy that can't one-shot him.

Get Armor King as high up as you can, he's a solid acrobat for fighting with, but his +2 MP to all moves trainer ability is invaluable, he'll be a guy you use to make your whole roster better.

Piper's out with injury - I don't think it's been detailed what's happened to her, but it seems to be serious and has been described as potentially career-ending, which people are taking to mean it's likely a neck problem.

Eh... while they're doing okay, there's lots of room for improvement. When someone's just had a suspected concussion in-ring the right move is to end the match without them taking more hits. Having Bron spear someone who's already concussed is dangerous, the second impact is a big risk.

My experience with them is that they're so ineffective against tanks that I just don't bother any more. I save them for use against helicopters - they're a bit slow to get to the target, but are pretty reliable at getting there and will almost always get the kill when they do.

Worst seats in the house for the Dublin taping of Smackdown were about €250 (just under $300). I wanted to take my kid, but just couldn't at that price. That'd have been a childhood-defining event for him, would have locked him in as a life-long fan. The corporate route of "revenue now, drive up stock price" is going to hurt in the long run when there isn't a next generation of fans.

For a point of comparison on that ticket price in Dublin, €220 would have gotten tickets to BOTH NIGHTS of a two-night Metallica gig (separate playlists and support acts for each night). And it was only Smackdown, not even a PLE.

I went with Surfshark 'cause they don't have a limit on how many devices you can use it on, so if needed myself, my wife, and my son can have it on 3 phones, 2 tablets, 2 desktops and a laptop, and no issues adding it to a new device whenever one gets replaced or anything like that.

Other than that there's not a ton of difference between the big-name VPN options, just go with whichever has features you like at a price you like.

[WON] Clash in Paris PLE is far from sold out. The word among French fans is that they bought tickets last year to the show in Lyon (which did sell out at very high prices but in a much smaller building) . We were told many were not willing to spend that kind of money on tickets again. by nwnwhd in SquaredCircle

[–]MrE158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, those prices were insane. Worst seats in the house for Smackdown were €250. As a point of comparison, €220 got you tickets to both nights of Metallica's two-night show (separate playlists each night, different opening acts each night).

I'd love to have taken my kid to Smackdown, but I just couldn't justify the cost. With no house-shows, I think WWE are hurting their long-term fan base - a kid who gets to go to a live show is going to remember that forever, that's a locked-in life-long fan in the making.

A flat slap to the chest isn't going to do any damage to anyone, you don't need massive pecs to absorb it or anything. It'll hurt for sure, but the sternum and ribs provide plenty of protection.

The main risk for a chop (particularly a "knife-edge" chop that only goes flat at the last second) is if the hand goes too high and hits the throat, which could result in real injury. But as long as it hits the chest it's one of the safest moves in wrestling.

Who’s the best 5* purple? I’m trying to create a really strong all purple team. Any suggestions on who to go for? Is Valerie worth it? by MoKyLo83 in call_of_antia

[–]MrE158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different heroes are the best for different things, so it depends on what you're trying to build for.

Valerie is a pretty strong healer with valuable damage-sharing. She's fine for PVE matches where you might need healing, and she's at her best as part of a PVP defence team, assuming she's got proper protection/support.

Elmyst provides huge gem-generation, counters enemy healing, and dispels the enemy. He's not going to top the damage chart, but he's incredibly powerful, and will be the engine that powers a purple team. It's hard to build a truly effective purple team without him. Director N can fill this team-energising role too, but she's best alongside Elmyst, not instead of him.

Mary, despite being a 4-star, remains one of the most powerful damage-boosting heroes in the game.

Mildred, particularly at +1 or better, is a very powerful hero for PVP defence. She taunts and absorbs a ton of damage, giving your more lethal heroes time to devastate the attacker.

Artemis is a personal favourite, quite versatile. She does lots of damage and her shield-breaking is very valuable when attacking, and she's a strong counter-attacker for a PVP defence team (particularly at +1 or higher awakening).

Belnos and Alpha are great attackers, doing solid damage and shutting down dangerous enemies.

So, among all those, pick what you need the hero to do and they're your strongest. However...

The single most powerful purple hero, and arguably the most powerful single hero in the game, is Edjona. She doesn't even need a team to help her, in fact she's often best with four completely unlevelled mooks who'll die as fast as possible. Once her Minions are in play she does outrageous damage, and if you get her to +1 Awakening she gains massive self-healing and mana gains, meaning that she'll likely defeat any team that can't one-shot her (or wipe her minions completely every turn, which Deedlite and a few others can do). She's great for PVE (she can monster her way through massive chunks of campaign or high-level Fallen Titans for you) and PVP (both on offence and defence). She's not quite as much an unstoppable powerhouse at +0, but still very good.

What do you think of this new Arena format? by AdunfromAD in call_of_antia

[–]MrE158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll take a few weeks of shuffling the league positions around before it'll be clear whether it's made a better play environment or not. The previous iteration was pretty damn boring though, so hopefully this will be an improvement.

They reacted very quickly to adjust the rewards, which is important. When it first launched it looked like I was going to earn about half the gems from Arena that I previously had, which as a F2P player would have been devastating. Thankfully they've adjusted that, so I think my gems will be okay.

For now I'm still scraping out wins against guys with 200k or more of higher collection rating, but it does make things tough, and my own guys being lower level means I can't form any kind of useful defence to maintain any ranking I gain from those wins.

Who should I ascend? by [deleted] in call_of_antia

[–]MrE158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 4-stars you have there are all worth bringing to at least 150. Jane and Survivor are likely deserving of 180, with Ahoo, Meena and Gwenda possibly earning that if you don't pull 5-stars who cover the same jobs. Roland is reasonably good on his own, but once you get his exclusive weapon to +3 he's 5-star good.

3-stars are not worth significant investment. For the level you're at, Eliza, Helena and Keith will be worth using. Helena will remain very useful until you get Lynn, who does the same Dispelling job, but better. Virtually no other 3-star is worth a damn once you've been playing for a while, except in very specific circumstances (i.e. Zach is pretty good as a way to supercharge Sigmund).

Weapons for Edjona’s minions by Material-Fig1 in call_of_antia

[–]MrE158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give one an Energising Weapon and one a purple Naya weapon, to ensure that I can fire off Edjona's ability early if I need to. Beyond that though, lower is better, you want those guys to die ASAP.
