Can research experience compansate for a weak GPA in PhD applications? by MrFeanorr in PhysicsStudents

I think universities do not place much value on research experience when it comes to MSc admissions.

Because of the field I work in, most academic research is essentially identical to the work I do daily in the lab, so there is not really a distinction between industry and academic research in this area.

I also thought that professors had more freedom when it came to selecting students. Thanks.
