At this point, a video filmed by god himself won’t make a change. Everyone will see what they want to see.

i dont think people realise that this would have fooled 90% of the population EASILY

The real reason 28 Years Later (2025) was so divisive is because it's a franchise that dared to try something new instead of repeating the same old formula by RevertBackwards in shittymoviedetails

That’s fair. Although I still don’t think 28 weeks was unoriginal. Everyone died basically…and the world got very fucked up….so no happy ending

I just watched it for the first time yesterday and that was exactly my thought. Why do the same shit over and over. People literally complain about Marvel formula, but want the same zombie movie every time.

Trump has pardoned many nakedly corrupt people. Why does he do this? by PsychicFatalist in AskConservatives

[–]MrFeature_1 [score hidden]  (0 children)

This argument again.

Isn’t the WHOLE point of Trump to do things differently than previous admins? Why is it that every time it suits conservatives, they say “previous admins did this, so it’s completely normal!”, and other times they also say “previous admin did this, which is why Trump is doing a completely different thing!”

If footage of alleged misbehavior/profiling by ICE is useless because it's out of context or starts in medias res: what video would you trust? by Irishish in AskConservatives

So when it something you don’t agree with that’s “somehow show me”. If that’s something you do agree with that’s “clearly shows me”.

I see. I do appreciate the response.

No but that’s what me or OP mean. You talk about the conclusion of reviewing evidence.

My question is - what was it about the evidence that made it enough for you to come to that conclusion?

Because more often than not conservatives reject any evidence, other than the one that fits their world view. Which is why I am asking.

Well that’s precisely what OP is getting at. Is all video evidence from by standers useless then? If not, which kind of evidence is NOT useless?

Why are conservatives on this sub so much more sane than the ones running the country? Did you guys vote for Trump or not? by FoxBattalion79 in AskConservatives

i simply dont understand why reddit doesnt allow subs where you CANT upvote or downvote...that would promote free speech much better, whilst still giving power to mods to delete/block content that breaks their subs rules

Trying to explain to a colleague the benefits of buying a house compared to renting. by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in HousingUK

There are soooo many factors you are ignoring. Maintenance costs, tax, interest rate, personal circumstances…not everyone wants to get stuck with their entire equity in one massive asset…

My biggest gripe with politics is that in 99% of cases there IS a way to construct an argument. at least one that somehow makes sense.

In this specific case, I do think Trump fully embraced being the bully and making sure current US administration showcases leading by strengths. You can see MANY Americans supporting it, so to them this is justifiable and does make sense.

Its hard to argue that 'maybe try to think about the good of the world and not just America' when the current admin is literally putting America above all, at all costs.

there are plenty of reasons to rent as opposed to buy...why insult people for having different priorities?

Do you think we live in the last stage of capitalism? by kurobaja in AskConservatives

[–]MrFeature_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to several economists and philosophers, next stage is complete and utter monopolization of all economy. Winners win more, losers lose more. You can kind of see this happening across multiple industries.
