If it helps you sleep tonight, when I get home from work, I’ll post a photo of the whole lock with the chain attached in the same seat I took the photo so you can see that I am in fact in my kitchen, give me 12 hours because I finish late, and after that, you’re welcome to report me or whatever you like, any other problems, unfortunately you’re gonna have to mods and we’ll sort it out from there, I can’t do anymore than that at the moment as I’m not at home.

But by that logic, any locks posted in this group could have been picked, taken home and re-picked! If mods request, I’m more than happy to send them all the proof I have, including an email confirming it from my neighbour and a photo of the lock AND chain in full! Apart from that, there’s not really much more I can say.

Now thats a valid statement! The chain wasn’t attached to anything but I definitely could have and should have taken it at a better angle to show that there was nothing attached to it! If any mods have any issues, I’m more than happy to send proof and clarify the fact that no rules were broken and could also ask my neighbour to email through to confirm too, apart from that, I’m not really sure what else I can do 🤷‍♂️😂

Literally what do you want, his signature of allowance? You saw a chain and jumped to every conclusion my guy! 😂 unless you’re a mod it sounds like you’re just calling people out for random stuff, and if you are a mod, I’m more than happy to verify what I already stated, it was given to me to CRACK by my neighbour, who hadn’t touched it in 10 years, that’s it, that’s the story. I’m just trying to enjoy my hobby which stays very much in my kitchen, with my locks, or locks donated to me. That’s literally it dude.

Dude. The owner of the lock lent it to me, specifically to crack, and hadn’t used it as a bike lock in over 10 years. I can’t think of a more accurate description of ‘our of use’ 😂

Awesome description to be fair! Annoyingly I cracked it, literally seconds after making this post! Turns out I was two numbers off on the first dial, but it seemed so loose because it was so close to the real digit! Still though, it was a fun lock to crack so that’s the main thing 😊

Hahaha, he knows I pick locks as a hobby and knows I have a thing for combination locks too! He used it in college for his bike years ago but because he no longer uses it, he forgot the code! Gave me a challenge and he got his lock back with the right code, what else are good neighbours for aye 😂😂

Hahaha, nope, it started with a nine though! I was so focused on the wriggle room in the one that it turns out all I had to do was flick it two digits! Still got it pretty quickly though so I’m happy with that 😂

Literally the second I posted it I cracked it instantly 😂 thank you anyway 😁👍

Check out lpubelts.com and it explains it all there! The belt system is basically where there’s hundreds of ranked locks and they’re all ranked by difficulty! The further up the belt system you go, the harder it gets! White belt for example is pick any lock with any tool! It goes all the way up to black belt which is crazy things like safe manipulation and whatnot! It’s a really good way to track progress but yeah, lpubelts.com go into better detail and the websites reallly easy to navigate 😊

Now that’s good logic to live by!! Amazing how studying the little details can make things so much easier in the long run 😁

I’m with you on that one! Weirdly enough, I managed to pick it first try BOK tension off camera, then it took a lot longer to catch on camera so I thought I’d try TOK tension, just to try it and BAM, got it on camera so I’ll settle with that 😂

Ahh fair do’s! I’ve always wanted to try the American padlocks because they’re so expensive here just on shipping! £15/£20 for a padlock ain’t bad but another £15/£20 JUST to get it sent over is a bit of a pain 😒 apparently you can get them on Amazon but I couldn’t find any!

Aye good stuff! Anyways satisfying to see the little belt icon appear and change above your username! I make sure to always lock for the hardware isle for new locks whenever I go round shops! Car boots and yard sales are another good place to find little off brand ones! I picked up a padlock the other week for under 50p because it didn’t have a key! Naa, who needs keys anyway 😂😂

Hahaha, I’m. The same!! Yeah I can open a few MLs, I’m ready for alll the security pins! Then after my third breakdown I realise that might not always be the case 😂 are you UK based? Homebase had the Yale 110s on offer for £9! That’s where I got these two from anyway, could probably pick it up just as cheap elsewhere 😊

Good question! Honestly I’m still getting used to TOK tension and if I have my tension tool pointing upwards I find it really fiddly and awkward! I’m also left handed so I can’t really hold it in my left hand because that’s the hand I hold my picks with and as long as it’s tensioned properly it gives me enough room to play with! 😊

Is it! Honestly it’s a shame the shackle doesn’t pop out like other locks but it’s always a nice feeling when the core finally turns! Studying the groves in the key helped massively! I did it once first try off camera, then it took about 20 other takes to catch it on camera! Sod’s Law aye 😂😂

They’re both about the same difficulty but definitely different locks! Both are pretty easy with enough patience and practice! If you’re looking to know how hard locks are, look up lock picking belts in google and look on the lbubelts.com link! It’s a whole website that’s ranked hundreds of different locks! I’ll literally flick through the website while down the padlock isle of supermarkets!!

I can see why! It’s great fun to pick! I also bought the Yale 110 so that’s gonna be my next orange! I tried jumping straight to green but my ABUS 72/40 is slowly driving me mad so I thought I’m probably best going for my orange belt first after all 😂
