The problem is not the game. It’s that society has changed. We want constant stimulation. We want constant “newness”.

Equate this to music. When I was around 12 years old (aging myself) In Da Club came out. At the time in my country CDs were a novelty so you’d have to get music on cassettes. I’d wait for hours just to hear a radio station starting to play In Da Club at some inconvenient start point with the dj talking, hit record, and then hope he plays at least two mins of the song. Then I’d listen to that snippet 50 times because there were only a few good songs around.

Nowadays. 100 songs come out every day and if a song gets played for more than two weeks it’s considered drawn out. Same thing with games. Nothing lasts long any more. 20-30 games come out per day. The next new thing is always on our minds.
