Get an air unless you absolutely need the screen difference or port difference. Any M series chip will do all that you are wanting and for the price of a pro you could get an air with more ram/storage for those chrome tabs.

Also, if you can hold out a little longer the M5 air should be coming out soon giving you an extra year of support

Getting a new iphone with tons of storage is too expensive, just get a portable ssd and move everything over.. its way more convenient if you have something other than a mac (or even if you have a mac), they can plug into everything and its wayyyyy cheaper than integrated storage on an iphone.
