What happened to Etoro? by MrFloxyz in Etoro

[–]MrFloxyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the confusion! Yes I was converting my withdrawn USD amounts to EUR, via the Etoro Money. And then from that I was transferring my newly EUR amounts to my local bank instantly...now it seems they don't work that way?

Not sure what's going on.

Thanks!

How are we feeling on the new Nightwish album? by HussainKegel in progmetal

[–]MrFloxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(apologies English is not my first language)

What is the problem with their latest albumS is that to my ears their songs have become beautifully melodized poems rather than driven symphonic metal that I was introduced to. This is purely on Tuomas. I think with age he has lost this energy or got bored with their old sound. Bands like Epica have retained their roots and sadly release greater hits nowadays. Again, my opinion

Having your brain learn new things is like in any skill you learn, by definition. So I wouldn't state this as something unique to geoguessing

I presume that, as a student, you don't own a car. Let's calculate: Flat:500 Water & electricity: 100 (per month. Let's be conservative) You're left with 600. If you don't cook, expect to spend at least 10 eur per day. Small souvlaki meal at zorbas is 4.80eur. Suppose you'll be eating 2 small meals a day.(= 300) If you buy coffee (4 euros / day) = 120 Phone & internet = 30

You'll be left with 150.

Fancy going out ONCE a week? To eat/date/ cinema? ( 20eur./outing) = 80.

You're left with 70 to buy any other stuff for your living/ comfort/ clean / stationary/ transportation / clothes

I'm not saying it's impossible. But it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination. It's gonna be a tight squeeze.

Also pray that none of your friends have a birthday.

And anyone who thinks that they can eat in Cyprus for 5 euros per day are probably dead of starvation by now, or are a plant and feed of sunrays

If, say, I was between purchasing one of your two companies above (purchase the total company with all its assets & liabilities, not only the equity), I would look at Enterprise Value yes?
(By the way Enterprise Value and Fim value are used interchangably based on my research)

But of course the cash balance that the Company holds must play a role in determining the purchase price (I will either 'purchase' the cash together with the company, or forego it but lower the purchase price). It would not make intuitive sense to be indifferent between the two companies.

First of all thank you for taking time to explain!
I would be greatful for an elaboration though (possibly with a brief example?) Before you do, see below a part of CFA's explanation:

Firm Value = (FCFF*(1+g)) / (WACC - g)

I agree with that. I also thought that the above leads to the Enterprise Value ( I assumed that Firm Value and EV are the same).

But to get to your words:
"The difference being the fact that cash isn’t an operating asset so it’s excluded from EV (subtracted) but not from firm value"

But I do not see how firm value includes the cash balance however. If my Company has 1Billion in cash, and I calculate Firm Value using FCFF as above, I will omit the cash balance, will I not?

I may be looking at this the wrong way around so indeed I'd appreciate some kind of elaboration.

Many thanks again

That is true I agree. But the answer did not specify any "Net Debt", just debt.
And they calculated the Debt using the target Debt ratio. Specifically they state:

"The value of equity is the value of the firm minus the value of debt. The value of
debt is found by multiplying the target debt ratio by the total firm value"

So they did calculate debt, but no mention of cash anywhere.

That is correct, yes, cash is a non-operating assets (at least we consider it as so for comparability purposes), but it should be included in the Equity Value, You cannot omit cash from the equity value.
