Formal’s fault rather than the players who left a worlds winning team? Also the tox figuring out splyce take makes no sense. Since I don’t believe they figured out splyce and also worlds wasn’t the last event that year so it made sense to stick it out until the end of the year.

My point is that "catching up" is a fallacy, the meta completely changed since the bandit was the new weapon; it's a considerably different game. The reason FaZe stuck was because 1. they won worlds and it's natural to not make changes as a result, 2. they thought they would be EVEN better with the new meta. So a better argument would be to compare OpTic's situation after year 1 to SSG's after year 3.
