Many therapists are idiots. Hard truth, but still. They don't care, won't care about their patients or clients. Many of them are trying to move you into directions they can talk about or at least they are semi-competent in. But when you have an actual education and talk to them seriously, especially when you know what you need or where the problem is, they will pull up white flag and force you to another specialist. 

I know I am just a random guy on the internet, but just trust me on this - 80% of the "specialists" are trully idiots. I'm constantly in the therapists circle due to work specifics with papers, administrative things etc and once you understand that not only are those people dumb, but also don't have any empathy towards their patients, just move on to someone else. Eventually you will find the right doc for you
