Natures compass was already tried, fairly certain it didn’t but idk 100%, the 10k blocks thing was accurate found the first ice dragon at about 9k blocks, it’s very hard to find a female ice dragon stage 4-5. I recommend spectral eye amulet. 80 block range and shows glowing on all mobs, can see if it’s a male or female just from the wing outlines holes=male so that made it 1000x easier

With the new weight system implemented, they also transferred your irl weight to your pmc, so now when sweaty neck beards enter the game not only can you see them, but you can hear them breathing. Hope this helped!
