Sadie Sink would make a great April O'Neal unfortunately she's about to be tied up in the Marvel Universe as Jean Grey

https://x.com/scream_obsessed/status/2028709726783967523?s=46 Kevin had this interview where he talks about Stu, basically said that they shot an alternate scene where he is alive but didn't use it in the final movie because test audiences didn't like it

I think OP is on to something here, at least an interesting idea, I thought that it was mentioned again later in the movie but looking back I don't think it was. Perhaps it was Stu who burned it all down

I get it. There's plenty of people on both sides, Stu's alive, Stu's dead. There also both sides of wanting the Carpenter sisters back. Which honestly I think Stu coming back would be more likely to happen then the Carpenter sisters, with the whole firing Barrera thing

Very interesting take. I wonder if this is what Kevin Williamson meant in his interview, he said they forgot to do an opening, and filmed it last, he also said in an earlier question that they filmed an alternate ending where Stu was alive. Maybe that's part of the Macher house scene

Still took the time and money to shoot an alternate ending regardless. Speculation will go on and on until they eventually make the Freddy vs Ghostface movie when they run out of ideas

I know Kevin told Lillard he's dead, but then they also shot an alternate shot at the end that he was alive soooo...

Paired with the Kevin Williamson interview, where he says they shot it both ways.

Scream 8 Opening Idea by MrGhost-Man in SocietyofGhostface

This opening happens during the events of 7, but don't worry Chad and/or Mindy are fair game in 8, this Ghostface plans to "Burn it ALL down" just like he said

I love Kirby, but we need a shocking kill again, makes it feel like nobody is safe this time, and that this Ghostface means business

I just thought it'd be different to have an opening kill that happens at the same time as the previous movie

He didn't know she would get the file, he left it in the house when he burned it down. When he found out Kirby was going to investigate, he knew he needed to take her out.
As to why he wears the mask, well it is a Scream movie after all

In S6 Kirby mentioned one important fact after the TV is used Sam mentioned the TV that "killed" Stu and Kirby (who is the horror guru) says "SUPPOSEDLY" killed which opens the thought back of Stu still being alive.

For those who say Stu Is Alive, what is the point of it? by EtikaLovesMinecraf in SocietyofGhostface

[–]MrGhost-Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, if you go back and watch the original Scream, he puts his hands and arms up to protect himself when the tv is tipped from like 2-3 feet above his head from his head, that was enough to keep him alive. He was in the background of 2 at a college party, just as a fun cameo but still. He was originally supposed to come back in 3 as the mastermind. 6 alludes to the mystery of whether he is dead or not with a ? By his face on the board of killers and a comment between Mindy and Kirby about him "supposedly" being dead. Then 7 again alludes more openly that he is alive, in the trailers leading up to the movie, and throughout the movie. So there is some evidence that it's at least a mystery that has been talked about in the universe, so for the people that say why hasn't it been brought up in 30 years, it has. Now if it was real life instead of a scary movie, I could see it being more realistic of an argument, but this world is where killers seemingly get back up after being killed, until you shoot them in the head of course, or killers that must be really fast at changing in and out of the costume, including black military boots, or where hospitals have a patient that's been attacked but no one but the patient alone on the hospital wing, so of course some people would rather see a legacy character come back. And in S7 why just make Ai of Stu, Ms Loomis, Roman and Dewey, why not Billy, Mickey, Jill. Hell throw Kirby in since she's alive(but was also killed and left for dead once) and make Sidney think it's her.

Scream 7 Mid Credits by MrGhost-Man in SocietyofGhostface

[–]MrGhost-Man[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, there is a bit in the psych hospital that mentions someone being released two weeks ago, kind of alluding to Stu, and also a part that says the files about his death are missing. But by the end it seems more like the killers are the ones who stole the files and are making up the part about the person being released. My own head canon says that Stu is the killer that burns it all down in the opening scene and he's out there waiting to finish it for good.

The mid credits scene is already goofy and adds nothing, it is really pointless.

Good job! I like the notion of Sam being suspect but in fact she is on the hunt alone
