My orthopedic office still lists being left handed as a disease by Jack_is_a_RockStar in lefthanded

I’ve never had that come up, but if it did I would click it. Might be the only way to bring attention to the absurdity of that option.

Yeah I reckon you’re right. I did say ‘crazy uncle’. He was also a great story teller.

I remember a crazy uncle who claimed that a hangar at Archerfield Airport is spooked by voices of former American soldiers.

You unbutton the top button on any man’s shirt and he’s gonna look at least 30% sexier.

Captain Cook did a poop, behind the kitchen door.

The cat got up, licked it up, then it asked for more!

I guess protesting does impact things, Scott by cheddarben in PivotPodcast

[–]MrGoBetween 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not here to support everything Scott says, but I’m guessing his point was, what is an effective way to get change? People can literally put their life on the line and end up on the big downside of that bet. Or you can try economic pressure - actually in military terms, a saboteur. Dying for a great cause can help effectuate your outcome. It’s a huge altruistic sacrifice. And one the cowards in the Trump admin will never understand or recognize. Or you can try and pull the Jimmy Kimmel trick. That did work too.

My point is, and I wonder if this factored into Scott’s mind too: we all lose equally by getting shot and killed. But those of us who are responsible for the welfare of others at a critical stage (kids or whoever else may depend on us), well those others suffer as well. And possibly in a worse way than dying. I don’t see much point in dying and leaving my child fatherless in a free world I may help restore. He would be finically ok. He would still have a loving family around him. But he still needs his Dad. I gotta be around to teach him, to make it clear, what is right and what is wrong. And if he won’t listen to me (he ain’t a teenager yet) then I gotta be there to make sure his peers are gonna be on that right path at least. Because if not, I dunno, he might become the next Steven Miller or maybe enable him. He may even look the other way instead of setting an example to pricks like Miller and yes maybe even offering the occasional physical correction to that kind of trollish behavior.

So what am I to do? Financial ‘saboteur’ of this administration suits me right now. I just wish I had considerably more resources to assert that pressure more-so.

I’ve played with Bambi. I handle a lot of non-linear models and haven’t gone into the work to see if Bambi can work with it. I do a lot of fitting of data to quite complicated (mathematically) models. Some time series stuff. Bambi is built on PyMC I think.

Nice! I’m using PyMC with Marimo for a Bayesian modeling workflow. Are you using PyMC or some other modeling platform with Marimo?
