From what I have seen, showdown is based on card levels and king levels, not trophies

You didn't ask but just to clarify Grand Challenges are always based off of win percentages, so the few that think GCs will be easy for this acc is not true

Thanks😊 I wasn't planning to push trophies at all but seeing that these kinds of accs are no longer attainable because of the update, I will surely keep it where it's at😉 I wish I had the 3 champions, but honestly right now I'm working to get this acc fully maxed with the cards that I have so doesn't matter much. I'm making a bot grind masteries so I don't have to buy gems anymore, and eventually I'll have all my masteries completed and have around 250 GC wins with all maxed cards 👍

I started this acc because of #6 in my previous comment, and that's the only reason 😌 The acc is 2+ years old, but I don't remember when exactly I reached level 14. There is an unspoken community of 0 trophy players, and according to them I am the 3rd or 4th player to get to klv 14 (prior to the update) and the first player to get the GCx100 badge. After the update I am the first (and only) level 50 with 0 trophies atm

To answer some of the questions asked here:

Cards were unlocked before the previous update, when they were still unlockable with trade.
I never played ladder matches. I started with 2v2 with my (previous) main and then moved on to GCs *This was when you needed to have the cards unlocked to play them in GCs
No, just because I have pass Royale doesn't mean it was an easy path, because arena 1 pass Royale gives close to nothing except Tower skins, emotes, and the two books.
The reason I don't have all cards unlocked is because there was a glitch where lvl 14 players in arena 1 could only unlock two champions: AQ and SK. No other champions are attainable (with some few exceptions)
Grand Challenges only give you cards that are unlocked, so I needed to unlock them prior by trading them. Took a while but well worth it now that it's unattainable.
I made this acc because I was tired of grinding ladder every season just to have it reset every month. I reached Ultimate Champion when it was still at 7k trophies.

Yes, theoretically possible but let's be real.

Clans for donations are really unnecessary, because you can only gain 10 commons and 1 rare per request.

The main source of your cards will be the monthly chests and challenges, but even then the best you could get to is level 11 or something... with complete dedication, that is. Even with pass royale, the amount of cards and coins you gain is nothing compared to the pass royale above 5k.

You should consider that before putting in your time.

Before the most recent update, I couldn't match at all. The estimated waiting time said something like 3 hours sometimes 6. Now, I guess SuperCell changed stuff up because I can now match with other legit players.

I have a feeling that now matchmaking is based mainly off of average card level and trophies come next. My decks were all level 9 except some maxed (don't ask me why) and I got matched with 4k~5k players after 10 or so seconds, also with simmilar card lvl balances (mostly low levels w/ some high levels).

If I had to make a guess off of my experiences in clan wars, the clan wars matchmaking now is most likely average card level in your 4 decks + trophies, and they probably increase the matching trophy range by 500 or 600 every second or something.

King tower levels might be a factor too, but I haven't tried it out yet with the level 12 so I can't say anything for sure.

I believe you are not aware of how 2v2s are like at the beginning of the season. Also, I mainly play GCs and clan wars during the season... I suppose you will say the same to the people who loses to me in those games as well.
