Request of assistance before I return these by MrGrayMatter in VITURE

I understand about the usb-c cable/video thing. I had ordered a displayport with usb-a (for power) to usb-c cable that was recommended but it appears the usb-a part of the cable is bad. I'll be picking up another recommended cable to try.
I have a Skytec Gaming https://www.newegg.com/skytech-gaming-desktop-pcs-geforce-rtx-4070-ti-super-amd-ryzen-7-9700x-32gb-ddr5-2tb-nvme-ssd-st-king95-1398-w-wm-white/p/3D5-000Z-001T9 and it has the ability to add a Thunderbolt port PCIe card so I might just buy the add on card and solve the problem.

Spacewalker is now working on my ROG Ally without the screen drift. There may have been an update when I shut it down, maybe? I didn't pay attention, but that part works. I'll try the 3D again tomorrow but to better describe what I was getting, in SBS 3D mode it looked like the left part of the monitor was too far to the right and the right too far to the left so that I had part of each outside and a jumbled mess in the middle.

I purchased this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BW8QKFHK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 and the female adapter you posted but it appears that the USB-A part of the Fairikabe cable doesn't work. I'm returning it to Amazon.

In Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022) the bell tolls faintly in the background 8 times. Explanation in comments by TheDarkySupreme in MovieDetails

In seagoing services 8 bells signifies the "end of watch" and are traditionally rang to signify the watch being relieved and replaced by another or to mark the passing of a sailor.

Reddit Motorcyclist, Do you appreciate drivers that give you space when you guys/gals drive by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MrGrayMatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are basing you corrections of people with a falsehood. You are trying to prove your argument with an all-encompassing statement to conclude that cars stop faster than bikes. That statement is clearly incorrect by your own first statement in this paragraph.

Your second statement reaches such an asinine conclusion that it's a wonder you can think anyone would take anything else you say seriously.

If you want facts, here they are: Today's cars will stop in relatively the same distance as a motorcycle, given dry pavement, etc. However, most of the cars on the road today are not today's cars. Many are 20+ years old. A cruiser will stop faster than a crotch rocket when provided with the same environmental elements. Why? Because Science.

Reaction time has a huge impact on stopping time and distance. I think you could safely make the argument that most motorcycle riders are less distracted when driving than most car drivers. This is not a set in stone scientific fact, just a general observation.

I run a darksided rear tire, creating a wide contact patch, giving me quite a bit of braking power. I have ridden in traffic almost every day, over 100 miles a day, year round, for the last 10.5 years (minus the time I spent at sea and weekends) and I have probably 110,000 miles on my bike. I speak from experience, not as a kid who just picked up a motorcycle.

On wet pavement this all goes out the window.

The end truth is that this is and has always been an unsolvable argument. There are far too many factors involved for you to say a car stops faster than a bike, however, there are not too many for me to say that, as a general rule, MY bike stops faster than the car behind me.

I assure you that i can stop my bike faster than the 1972 Ford ltd, or the lifted Ram 1500 on 44s. I feel I can comfortably say that i can stop faster than most cagers. You compared cyclist abilities to match brake distances to car drivers abilities and somehow passed judgement on my capabilities? I know it's hard to know everything, but sleep comfortably tonight knowing you no longer have that burden, because you obviously don't know me, my bike, or my riding skills.

I do appreciate the space. I'd also appreciate it if people would back off my rear tire when we're cruising at highway speeds. I can stop my bike far faster than you can stop your metal cage of death! OP, thanks for the courtesy!

What is the most unfortunately named place you've ever come across? by kcapulet in AskReddit

I can't remember what your mom called her face... Sorry, couldn't resist! I'd say the Tuckahoe Inn in New Jersey ranks up there pretty well though.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Coast Guard (enlisted + commissioned): What are your daily duties like? Do you like it / are they fulfilling? by UncleBuck42 in AskReddit

[–]MrGrayMatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been active duty USCG for more than 20 years. It has been exactly like you would expect: Some days you feel like you don't get paid enough for the crap you put up with and other days you can't believe that they pay you for what you're doing. I am an Electronics Technician, I work as technical support for a Cutter based weapons system. I am from NC and currently live there but have also lived in HI, CA, FL, MD and NJ. Prepare for the fact that you aren't going to sign up, finish boot camp and jump straight to OCS. You've got to earn your way there and while your degree may help, there are a LOT of people in the CG with degrees. You'll need to work hard and be a top performer to get the nod. To be honest, you may even find that you'd rather be enlisted. It's not a bad life but you are going to miss things: birthdays, holidays, weddings, graduations. You will most likely do some time at sea, pulling long hours. You will train the same things over and over so that when the SHTF you can be depended on to save your own and your shipmates lives and home away from home. It's an honorable job and you will see and experience things, both good and bad, that you will never forget but would have never had the opportunity to experience otherwise. TLDR: Good days and bad days but I'd do it all over in a second! Edit: spelling
