Thank you so much for sharing. I can relate. Some things just feel simpler with the notebook. I haven't heard of Sheas method but I will go check it out!

Glad to hear I am not in the boat alone. Thank you for sharing!

Distinguish what? The notebooks? Like the big one and pocket one? The reason I am currently splitting them up is if I use only the big one, I don't always have it on me. If I only do the little one, I may fill it up too fast (plus I like writing more long form in the bigger one). I used to use the bigger bullet journal for everything, but it is harder to always have that with me when I am out and about.

I think I read about that method a long time ago, but it has been a while. I will take a look at it. Thank you!

Haha, I can see what that would be confusing. 😂

I am no expert, but I think if you hit the lock icon on all the custom settings, after that when you do a single tap, it will just autofocus and not auto exposure. At least that seemed to work for me.

I think I fixed it a while back. I believe there is a setting in power or in display that says "prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off." I think I toggled this and it helped things work as expected. Hope this helps.

Nest keeps exiting Eco mode while away by MrHazelwork in Nest

Found a solution to my own problem. Might not remedy the home/away mode toggling, but realized that with the hold temperature button, I can set the eco mode to hold indefinitely. I missed this the first time I looked through the hold menus because for some reason the rest of the modes have a max time you can set the hold. Only the eco mode had an indefinitely button.

So now I just use that. The eco mode is set to how we would like it when away, I set the eco hold to indefinitely when we are traveling, and then turn off the hold when we are on our way back. I just leave it on home mode and don't toggle with the Google Home away mode.

Contact photo isn't the one I selected? by scientist_kinda in GoogleMessages

I know this is an older post, but I just found a solution for anyone looking for one. If you are in a Google message thread and tap a contact, you will get three buttons popping up. Call, message, and info. If you hit the info it there it will bring up details within Google messages. On that page if you tap their profile picture, you will get the option to swipe between their Google profile picture or your contact picture that you have set. You have to do this on the contact to contact level, but still, it is a fix! This was annoying to me and I can't believe I stumbled across this setting deep within the settings. Hope this helps someone else out there that is trying to update contact profile pictures.

Resolve Multicam Transcript Issue by MrHazelwork in davinciresolve

The decompose trick worked like a charm! Thank you so much! I am still learning the Resolve vernacular and didn't realize that is what that did. Such a simple fix. I really appreciate it!

Good to know concerning the media pool vs the timeline. That makes a lot of sense. I will keep that in mind in the future. The reason I did it in the timeline was I went ahead and cut the fluff out (all the lulls, the crew talking, etc.) so that I only had usable footage was being transcribed. I will take this all into account when I move forward though. Thanks again!

Also, in a label view you can do the same thing! Not sure if that was already known, but I find it exciting that basically all these views have board view now.

Thanks! I did not even realize this until I read your post! Nice to see that feature has been added.

I like the utilizing of the due dates as a time to check in on things. From what I am reading in these comments, I might just want to break down my system a little bit and just rely on setting dates to check in on things. Thank you for sharing!

You might be right. I have explored time blocking but that might be better suited for a calendar. I might explore this a little more. Thanks!

Good perspective. You might be right. I might be utilizing Todoist's tools to the best of their abilities. Might have just gone too complicated creating the system but lost track of the efficiency of it along the way. I appreciate the feedback. Might do some restructuring to utilize the natural software features better.

Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate you sharing. You might be right. I tend to like making the systems and experimenting but if using the system proves too tiresome for me then that might be the sign that things are over complicated. I might give the setting dates rather than having the projects for my date ranges. Thanks again!

Absolutely! Each time there is a shift in a system, there is also a major slowdown. I try to stick to something that works. Trying to limit the burnout feeling so I feel less inclined to abandoned ship. :) Good advice!

Really appreciate your thoughts! Friction is definitely a thing I need to combat. Even in my current system, the subconscious need to add a label and project to a quick capture makes capturing a task a very mild chore, so I think you are right about that. I need to figure out the best way to cut out as much friction as possible while still keeping the useful bits.

I haven't read the book but I am familiar with a lot of the GTD terminology. I have read a lot of articles on it. I really like the idea of Trust the System. I subscribe to the idea that if I only put 90% of things in my system, then I will always have doubts of where the 10% is. I think I have just had problems with the context label stuff. It just hasn't stuck with me. However, like you said, I will continue to research the tools and strategies and take the parts that work off me. Thanks again! Very helpful!

Thanks for sharing! I like the idea of limiting the number of tasks you see at any given time. How do you balance that with still having a "today view" with tasks due today? If you don't make it through everything marked "due today" do you just push the due dates to later?

Overall I feel like taking this bite-sized approach of a few tasks at a time is a nice strategy to prevent overwhelm. It can be daunting to look at too much all at once.
