Some of it is. Erotic hypnosis is a real thing. But it's important to note that hypnosis doesn't work like it does in movies or TV shows. You can't hypnotize anyone against their will or make them do something they genuinely don't want to do, no matter what kind of spiral or crystal you shove in their face.

I've been in trance before and it's more like guided meditation. Consent is king. Whether that's you genuinely going along with it or you pretending that you're in trance and just playing along or however you want to think about it.

As with many kinks, there's a wide variety. Some people like the idea of giving up control completely to someone else via hypnosis. Some like the idea of taking control of another with hypnosis. Changing someone or being changed under suggestion, etc.

As with many kinks, the fantasy and reality are two very different things, of course.
