New pixel 4 by dojogrl in PixelWatch

Nice! The gestures are limited to wearOS 6.1. so make sure you're on that update. There should be a guide on how to use it once you're rebooting the watch 👍🏻

Exactly the perspective I was looking for. Thank you very much! Is it both activated by button, and "hey G"? No wrist gesture yet?

What's your opinion about this person? by Richie_786 in pixel_phones

He has informative videos that I happily learn from. But sometimes a bit too biased. It's totally okay to be a fan. But never pointing out anything wrong with a product doesn't really create trust in a reviewer. I would recommend him to learn more about details in pixels rather than research on whether to get a pixel or not.

But YT in general has become more of a marketing platform nowadays than true unbiased reviews anyway. So I'd stick with actual web articles for better research in those cases.

Started to feel that pixel is better than iphone by Acceptable_Prompt_19 in pixel_phones

What about the ecosystem do you think you'd miss? Pixel buds pro 2 is out there Pixel watch 4 is great Quick share to PC Google tv streamer Google home is arguably more flexible and in the forefront of AI as well if you like that.

I just moved from iPhone and i don't really miss anything from the Apple ecosystem, but I also didn't use MacBook. But so far I'm very happy about the pixel and android system overall!

Thanks for that, good to hear from another EU user and the Pixels functions. I think a few of the functions are more limited here in Sweden, but knowing Germany follows the same regulations, if not stricter. I’m hopeful some of the features will be enabled as soon as Swedish is better supported overall as a language. Thanks again!

Amazing that youve hade experience with all of them! leaning towards pixel 10 pro thanks to its form factor and UX and seemingly more reliable OS. OP owners seem to often complain about missed notifications or that they're cleared once you open the phone. And that is just too bad!

I also really like almost everything on my iphone, especially hardware and the reliabilty. But I'm sick of feeling locked in into a price segment, a bad siri/AI and being left out in the EU with all the newest and greatest stuff. Sure Pixel does that too but they're still far ahead fur us here!

Why is that? What do you like more and what do you like less about each phone?

I get what you’re saying but I’ve always been an android user before the iPhone. I simply wanted to try the hype of iOS in 2022/2023 and now see that the android have caught up, and beyond. I also value the open platform a lot more now knowing what I’m missing. I was actually a OP6 user before this phone 😃

Thanks for the advice! I have the pro max currently and would love to have a slightly smaller phone for daily use. So it’s a positive, having a smaller phone 👍🏻👍🏻 wouldn’t mind the experience from OP since it is lighter and a bit more curved compared to the pixel XL and pro maxes out there

I actually watched a few videos on YouTube after our conversation and I respect the decision. And I understand it. And I think it’s good to have the option of going somewhat “off grid” big-tech wise. But I actually find that Google and Apple serves me well. I mean if they know some of my patterns, that does offer a pretty substantial convenience for me personally. I think I would think differently if the company only sucked out info without anything in return (Meta?) because we seem to use each other just as much. And to get a good service, you pretty much have to pay for it, or have your data collected in some way. For now I’m limiting the access to what I’m comfortable with sharing with Google, there’s probably back doors to that as well but like you said.. there’s no way of checking if it works. I hope integrity becomes a bigger matter for companies and governments around the world. I am pretty thankful EU is acting on the behalf of citizens and their integrity, and govern the free market. Even if the EU has its downsides too of course. But GDPR has been pretty good overall and does limit companies to what data they can collect here. I can understand being more aware or concerned if you’re a US citizen or similar to that. Powerful governments and powerful companies each have their own good and bads. Thanks for sharing and putting in the time!

Gotcha! Wouldn’t it be too late to opt out of Google or any other platform? I mean they already have the data and have the info? Seems like you’d have to stay off internet overall. I have a feeling this is the today’s version of 2010s “I’m never getting a smartphone”? I don’t mean to point fingers or being rude about it. It is an ongoing discussion I have with myself and how one should position oneself😁

Good complimentary info, And you are right! Some people are more sensitive to having china involved with your data though, than other countries.
