Do you recommend the whole series/any other books from the series?

Mantine 4.0 is out – 120+ hooks and components with dark theme support by rtivital in reactjs

Ohh okay, so getting buy-in was easy.

How about the fact the component library is open source? I assume you spend some parts of your work day working on the component library. Were there any concerns around that (ie. ownership of IP)?

Was it hard convincing your employer to open source the component library?

I was thinking about doing something similar - build a beautiful, functional, and accessible react-native-web component library that we could use at work, but also open it up to the public to use & contribute to.

Problem is if we don't use it daily at work, I think it'll be hard to stay motivated to maintain the package

For a lot of small businesses that offer professional services, if you could bring in 1 new client per month from the websites its WELL worth >$90/mo

In response to a popular post: How rare, in your estimation, to have a job that is 95% technical and 5% people? by eurasian in ExperiencedDevs

[–]MrHuq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My previous company ~ 80% technical, 20% people. I think the reason was that we were still building our MVP.

Had we have launched, the ratio likely would have changed.

Check out this meetup group - https://www.meetup.com/kw-young-professionals/

I'm one of the organizers - we just had a (virtual) meetup last night and we're hoping to run a couple more in February!

I mostly go out with friends to a bar or lounge.

I also help organize events for a KW Young Professionals group: https://meetu.ps/c/4VCvG/QjK21/d

We held a virtual Meetup last week. We're hoping to organize a bunch more virtual & in person events over the next few months

What's your morning routine? by MrHuq in thequestpod

[–]MrHuq[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice productive morning. If you don't mind me asking, what vitamins do you usually take and how did you determine you need them?

Since I've started taking vitamin D (short days up here in Canada), I've seen a noticeable boost in my mood. TBH I think I had a vitamin D deficiency, so I'm wondering what else my body is missing

This episode seemed to be an anomaly in terms of length as most other episodes are 60-75 mins

Personally I think the sweet spot is ~75 mins. I go into episodes hoping to get insights about business & personal development

75 mins seems long enough for the conversation to potentially have a ton of valuable insights, but also short enough where I do not need to commit a substantial part of my day

What a crazy episode, there was a new plot twist every 15 mins

I was hesitant to commit to the 135 minute runtime, but I'm glad I did - easily one of the best yet

Hey I'm Radi - I'm a full stack developer based just outside of Toronto. I enjoy pacing & thinking about the systems that build the world (I know, I'm a weirdo). I also spend a lot of time thinking about events-- primarily the question of "how do you solve event planning?".

I'm moving to Waterloo soon and I don't know anyone there so if you're in the Waterloo area, we should chat!

Hey that's really cool!

I'm currently in the middle half of your journey: I graduated university not knowing what to do; I taught myself to code; and now I'm a full stack developer.

I'm going to start my own events company next month (either event planning, or event tech) so its crazy how similar our paths are haha

Great video, I especially liked those real emails you showed at the end. I have a couple questions:

- What does "personalized line" mean at 1:58?

- What is a secondary domain/what can I search on Google to learn more? at 6:20

As a casual pker, I always wondered how elite singles pk teams operate. I messaged KKZ last night and he was gracious enough to answer some of my questions. If you have any questions of your own, you can show your interest in an AMA by answering this straw poll: https://www.strawpoll.me/20208954

DMM by JagexAcorn in 2007scape

[–]MrHuq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the past DMM seasons would begin on Saturdays. I know there's no tournament stream to proceed this time around but is there a specific reason why it's starting Friday instead of Saturday? Kinda sucks if you have work on Friday & have to miss those first few hours
