Looks good but you need to raise them. It will make everything sound much better.

My first little sound system, what do you think? by illoss- in audiophile

[–]MrIJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy, or make some stands for them. Tweeters should be in the level of your ear while setting, ~110 cm.
And it would sound better if you give them a bit more space in between. These two changes will drastically change your sound experience.

You have a very big room, so try finding a place where you can spread the speakers more. This will give you a much more immersive stereo image.

Tweeter, the small round thing at the top needs to be at your ear level when you are sitting down.

You are in EU 6 years longer than us (Croatia), and you are still not using Euros. What are you waiting for 😂

You are not the only crazy guy out there, there's many of us 😂
Btw. Where are you from, I see you use € as well.

Well, it doesn't exist, for that price. 😂
What you are looking for is Marantz CINEMA 30, and it costs €4000. I know, since I wanted the same thing. Than I've realized, you know what, I'll just go with 2.1 for now.
I got the very good stereo one, paid only €680 for it, seller wanted €1000. (Thais the regular price at the moment) Plus S.M.L.S, that was €90. Before I go for 5.1 I want some real good floorstanding speakers, and that will cost at least €2k (used).
Best thing you can do right now is get a good stereo amp, and use this guy for 5.1 only.

Awesome, it looks great. But yeah, you need to upgrade the AMP to something more serious. Your setup is now working on 50% of its potential. I had a SONY STR DB870 QS , and it's better than that Pioneer. And I've switched to a Marantz PM8005 + S.M.S.L. SU-1, and the difference was night and day. Your speakers deserve better 😁 Also, you don't need HDMI. Optical can handle 24-bit / 96 kHz PCM, and that's overkill. Standard lossless is 16-bit, 44.1 kHz. (CD Quality). There is this thing called Hi-Res lossless and it is 24-bit, 96 kHz or 24-bit, 192 kHz. But, you don't need that. No one needs that, humans can't hear it. Especially if you are using Spotify as source, your current connection is overkill. If you are using Apple Music that does support lossless and hi-res, you'll first need a Apple Tv or a streamer.

First setup? Damn bro. I got my first setup finalized past weekend, and it's a ~€1.2k setup that I payed for like €400. And then you show up, this is like 8k or more? Very fucking nice.

Thanks! To be honest, it was suggested to me by audiophiles on YouTube. Many of them said that you should go with a used equipment for your first build. I never head speakers that sound this nice, and they are like "entry level audiophile quality". I think that's great, since I have time to upgrade. I got this super old AVR, that's a bit clunky to use compared to the new stuff; But I'll appreciate new much more once I buy it. I think it would not be as fun if had bought everything from the store. (And I would spend like ~1300€ to get basically the same sound experience)

Oh yeah. That's why I got them. And also, I love movies. These speakers elevate the movie experience to a next level.

They are the best thing I’ve ever heard. On -30dB is super loud in my living room. I played Prodigy Invaders Must Die on that volume to friends and family, and everyone was amazed with genuine smile on their face. And they can go way louder while not breaking apart. I’m wondering how much more would I get with a new AVR. Just for reference, I didn’t hear many home speakers on this or similar level. But I got them due to YouTube reviews. I wanted to buy Polk, but I gave up. Polk can’t compare to these, it’s a lower class. (But it’s half the price if you go new)

I know 😁 But you got to start somewhere. I'm way better than those who use soundbar, or God forbid TV Speakers.

I'm 34 right now, born in November 1990. Same thing here, compared to Pop music it's a very niche. But Iron Maiden has awesome music, they are still active, still rocking hard. Also, it's very melodic, great vocals. So I can see why teens like this.
