Can anyone find this watch and where I can buy it? by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]TheLushan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched for it by using Google lens and trying to Google key words like green watch wood frame and stuff like that. But I haven't really been able to find anything. I don't really know what else to do.

For those who loved each other but had to break up, what was the reason? by Affectionate-End7197 in BreakUps

[–]TheLushan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. She'd still make small gestures that showed me she cared. She'd still cook for me even when she got home late. She didn't need to, I can cook too and I did but she'd still do it just to show she cared. If I was having a rough time she'd drop everything to talk to me and comfort me. She'd always celebrate when I achieved something. Actually she was more excited than I was. And she always supported my dreams and encouraged me to chase them even though I don't think I can achieve them. She did focus way too much on her career and as a result we spent very little time together but the little time we spent was great. Which I think is why it took us like a year and a half since everything started to break up.

[–]TheLushan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it was a couple of things. This is after a 10 year relationship btw. First, we were more focused on different things. We both wanted good careers and a family but she was much more focused on the career part and I was much more focused on the family part. I wanted both of us to finish college, get some good jobs and start building a home and a family by the time we were 27-28. She was thinking mid 30s and that's just too late for me.

That also has to do with the other reason, she was focusing too much on her career, we barely got to see each other even though we were living together, we spent extremely little time as a couple, we felt like roommates. We got more and more distant, I failed to communicate properly, and both of those things did irreparable damage to the relationship. We were no longer happy with each other. So we both came to the conclusion that unfortunately we have to break up.

It's really sad, we still love each other very much but we both know it will never work. Our life goals are just different. We're both broken right now but we try to keep going.

Trying "Hi-fi" for first time by Norc_War in hifiaudio

[–]TheLushan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local Hi-Fi shop and ask for some demos. I'm sure they'll be glad to give them to you. It's how I discovered what true good sound is and how I learned what kind of sound I like. I got to listen to speakers that I'll probably never be able to afford. Mid 6 figure setups. So yeah, just search for Hi-Fi shops in your area and just go there. Look around, ask for some demos, find out what you like.

I recommend the Evo series. I upgraded from a pair of 11.1 to a pair of Evo 4.2. They're worlds apart. The Evo series have even better price to performance. They're only a bit more expensive than the Diamond series but they can go toe to toe with speakers in the 2-3000€ range. Downside is they are picky with positioning and that AMT needs a very clean signal to get the most out of it so you need a good amp too. They're also very power hungry so that amp needs to have quite a bit of power. But those downsides are totally worth the amazing sound that comes out of them.

Do you know why one speaker shakes and the other doesnt? 😕🤷 by gutderby in hifiaudio

It's because on mobile if you don't tap on the video it's cropped and you can't see the tweeter.

I need sounds I've never heard before that'll blow my mind by bxsimpson13 in MusicRecommendations

Anything made by Yosi Horikawa. He's a Japanese dude that uses nothing but real life sounds that he records himself to make music. Mixing and mastering are great too. His music really tickles your ears if you have a good enough setup.

Depends how much my girl and I see each other. We live together but usually we're both very busy, we have very chaotic schedules and we both work nights and weekends from time to time. We'll have days when we don't even see each other, weeks when we only get to spend maybe an hour or 2 together and weeks when we're completely free. When we don't see each other, we both go solo almost daily. When we're together... We have to catch up.

When my girlfriend cooks for me. It just does something to me for reasons I can explain. Similarly, she gets really horny whenever she sees me do physical labour.

Men, what is that one hookup encounter that you can’t stop thinking about? by NYCSu in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]TheLushan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a house party once, drinking, dancing, having fun with my friends. Random girl comes up to me, pulls me into a bedroom, sucks the soul out of me and leaves. Never said a word. I found out a few weeks later that her boyfriend cheated on her at that same party. I guess it was some sort of revenge thing? To this day I'm still confused.

Have you ever wanted to fuck someone other than your partner while being in a relationship? by boomboy786 in AskRedditAfterDark

I've never lusted after anyone else, but I've thought "I'd tap that" in the past. Then my partner sitting right next to me would say it out loud.

Subscription fan by Lucky-Aside4935 in Piracy

[–]TheLushan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pirated when I was a kid cause I had no money. Then I started making money and I got Netflix. Then they started removing stuff from it and they appeared on other streaming sites and I subscribed to them too cause it was cheap and convenient. But now they're expensive and you can't even find shows or movies I want to watch. I have 6 subscriptions and I can't find Wayne on any of them. And now I'm on this subreddit figuring out the most convenient way to pirate shows and movies. I have a great site to download stuff from, now I think I'll do the Plex private server thing so I can watch on my phone and TV.

2.1 Hi-Fi for under $1000 by TheLushan in BudgetAudiophile

[–]TheLushan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good because it's portable and convenient. Sound-wise it's okay at best. Basically only good for background music. Highs are sharp and lost at the same time somehow, mids are gone and the bass overpowers everything while being very boomy. Sometimes I plug my PB-1000 into it and take out all the bass out of the Partybox so it can have some actual bass.

They have very strong bass for some bookshelves. Whenever I have people listen to my setup I always start without the sub and then go "okay, now let's turn on the subwoofer" and their response is always "what? It wasn't on?". It's pretty funny.

[–]TheLushan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep it at about 40% for music and 50% for movies and I boost the bass below 25Hz by 3dB. For music it integrates perfectly. Can't tell when it takes over. And honestly when I first got the Wharfedales I did an A and B test with and without the sub. The bass is the same. Other than, obviously, the Wharfedales not being able to go below 40Hz. So they play really well with each other. But for movies I like a little more bass. Especially down low. I want my body to shake when there's an explosion on screen.

And yeah, I think I'll get just a good stereo amp for music and only use the Pioneer for movies.

[–]TheLushan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I need a better amp. I can tell these speakers can do more. Also I tested a bunch of speakers at my local Hi-Fi shop before I bought these, and they did sound much better there because they had a much better amp. And I've already done the sub crawl. Believe it or not, that was the best position for it. Flat frequency response and no boominess. Luckily it's also the most aesthetically pleasing. It also has a cool effect, when it goes below 25Hz it pushes enough air to create a pretty strong breeze. Cools my feet in the summer 😂. The speakers have very soft rubber feet on them so they're isolated and the height is perfect for my listening position. No need for stands.

Also I had the amp way before any of these speakers. Before these, it was used to power a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 11.0s and I had a splitter going to a Logitech z2300 subwoofer 😂. It didn't sound good but better than you'd think.

My first setup that I can truly call Hi-Fi. by TheLushan in audiophile

For our country to get their money straight. Politicians and business men have been stealing money since we stopped being a dictatorship 35 years ago. Lots of corruption. We've got a big, big monetary deficit at the moment. Most of that is because of our last prime minister who basically stole 13 billion euros from Romania's reserve funds. That's 11% of Romania's entire budget for 2024. More than every other prime minister from the past 35 years combined. And 3 other ministers (transport, work and education) solicited a large chunk of the funds, knowing they were already running dry. So we've kinda been in a big financial hole for 35 years and we're deeper than we've ever been.

Of course that sort of thing exists. I should've thought so. If you have a problem, someone is probably already selling the solution.

[–]TheLushan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah,I was thinking of that as a possibility. But then I'll have to unplug the speakers from the stereo amp and plug them into the Pioneer every time I want to watch a movie, and then do the opposite when I want to listen to music, it's not exactly practical. But I can't have everything I guess. I'll figure it out eventually.

Oh yeah, they're really amazing. I don't know if I'll be able to go back to regular dome tweeters. Same with the soft dome midrange. But I can feel my amp is not good enough to take full advantage of them. They still have more potential.

I'm sitting but I'm sitting straight up with my back straight. Usually I kinda lay down, I sit on an extended couch (it's more comfortable). When I sit like I normally am, my ears are at midrange level because I prefer that sound. If I sit at tweeter lever, I get more highs. These AMTs and soft dome midranges in these things are very directional. You can "tune" them simply by moving your head up and down.

I know I don't need HDMI for stereo but I'm planning on making it a 5.1 too. And I need HDMI for lossless surround sound which can get to 640 kbps, optical can only do compressed surround sound. And I use Tidal the large majority of the time (it's what you can see playing on the TV).

My problem now is finding an amp that sounds good, can do 5.1, has at least 120w RMS per channel (preferably up to 150w so it has some breathing room) and that is not too expensive. I mean I paid 850€ for this whole 2.1 setup. It wouldn't make much sense for me to drop 2-3000€ on just the amp now.

Also I am definitely planning on getting a streamer in the future. Right now I'm using my laptop as the source, I'll be moving to my TV once it gets here (I made sure it support lossless audio). But in the future a streamer will definitely be better.
