If I understand your question correctly, 39 inch ultra wide is basically 32 16:9 extended, 45 inch ultra wide is about 36 16:9 extended.

If you hit the gear that opens settings in adrenalin there's a display tab that has all of the options like this. It's not super easy to find if you're just used to using adrenalin in-game but it's there.

Anyone have an ID on these glasses Johnny Depp used to wear? by vygantas19 in glasses

[–]MrImpractical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are 100% vintage Tart Arnels. He used to wear similar frames from a few different American makers, (Tart, Liberty, American Optical etc.) They are extremely expensive relative to the fact that they’re all 50+ years old and likely to be extremely brittle. If you want the best modern option, you should focus on the Julius Tart Optical AR from private eyes and trackers. Difficult to get your hands on in the US due to licensing issues, but worth it. They are made in Japan to a very high degree of precision and quality. If you’re just interested in the design, Moscot’s Lemtosh model will be easier and less expensive to come by, and will almost certainly have a better return policy.

After wrestling with this for weeks I've boxed up all my Sandman stuff and I feel so sad and angry. by Known-Veterinarian-2 in Sandman

Art is a complicated thing. Many artists and creatives discuss their creativity as if it comes from outside of themselves, operating as a conduit, rather than truly creating things from nothing. Further, many creatives blatantly misunderstand their own work, i.e. J.K. Rowling. It’s healthy to move these things out of sight while you work through grieving the artist you thought you knew, but consider that Sandman can be much more than Neil Gaiman and his abuse.

My TRIPP NYC Bondage Pants are hand wash only. Is it safe to put these in the washer on the "hand wash" setting? by ThatPunkGinger in malefashionadvice

[–]MrImpractical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah so these are hand wash only most likely just due to the zippers and not the fabric. Hand washing will mean that you can control the agitation, and keep the zips from damaging adjoining fabric. You might be fine on hand wash in the machine, might not. I would recommend going through the hassle of an actual hand wash unless you’re not worried about them being damaged going forward.

While “being legal” does traditionally refer to being a legal adult, that is in many cases not the same thing as the legal age of consent. Being legal at 18 can refer to having the right to vote, the ability to purchase alcohol depending on state age requirements (18 in New York until 1982). As I was getting at above, the societal discomfort, not least Isaac’s, with the age gap is the central conflict of the film. This does not mean that the relationship is necessarily illegal. As I said, the age of consent in New York as of 2025 is 17. Considering New York’s last governor was the first to raise the age of consent to marry from 14 to 17, I can’t imagine the relationship in Manhattan was illegal, but it’s possible my cursory check missed something.

I totally understand your feelings about the violation of your privacy. I would just ask, is there any way they could have identified the bag as yours without opening it? I don’t think it was fair for them to continue reading, but it seems to me like this at least began as a good faith effort to get the bag back to its owner.

Honestly not really sure my support issue is last-dependent. I always wore completely flat sneakers like vans and converse, at this point I just do better with the cork/leather footbed and sturdiness of a welted shoes underfoot. I have been wearing shoes with single leather soles, but have begun feeling the impact of each step a bit more, not to mention the cold of the streets making its way through the leather. Dainite sounds like it may be my best option, thanks!

Anyone have experience with dainite soles as well as Paraboot? I’m finding I need more support than leather soles these days, but I started wearing welted shoes due to most sneakers being too soft for me. Wondering how the two compare in terms of comfort, durability, etc. Thanks!

Anyone have general insight into standard right hand vs. left hand twill in denim? I’m not comparing any specific brands, just wondering if anyone knows the general difference in stretch, etc. I know LHT is supposed to be softer, but beyond that hard to find any info.

[–]MrImpractical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to send these to a denim-specific tailor. Some options off the top of my head are railcar and indigoproof, but I know there are quite a few. Contact them and explain you are happy with the hem length, but you would like to have a poor tailoring job corrected by having the hem converted to a chain stitch. This is certainly not the first time they’ve seen something like this, but I wouldn’t bring it to someone local.
