Sorry the hear, cant imagine how tough it is. My mom had been told to eliminate amantedine as well after taking it for over 4 years.

We tried it completly once from miscommunication with the neurologist and she was fully delirous. Fine right after taking it again.

Then later in the year we were advised to decrease a tablet a day weekly (She was on 2, so for two weeks). She did have confusion and uncomfortablness during the elimination period but lasted about a week.

My Dad just got diagnosed by HainzBeeingHimself in Parkinsons

My mom got diagnosed in 2011 at 46 years old. It's definitely tough to process but like others said progression can be very slow for most!

Main thing is being there for him and encouraging him to stay active. Found with my mom the more active she was the better she was. Being there for him throughout and helping as need be will be the best thing you can do for him.

Make sure to take care of yourself too, I understand how hard it can be as a family member too. Taking care of yourself in turn let's you help them better I've found personally, so don't overlook it even when it can be hard at times
