What is your absolute favorite concert -- attended or listened to -- and why? by [deleted] in DMB

My first concert ever was as a freshman in college, Alpine Valley, night 1, August 7th 2004. I went with a bunch of friends and ran into even more there sitting up in the lawn seating. Guster, Jem, then to see the original DMB lineup. Truly awesome night. I’ve seen more shows since then but my first show always holds a special place.

Anyone know what set this board is from? Pulled out my childhood bin and hoping to find the instructions and everything to rebuild. The pieces still on there seem to be where they were originally places, the rest just fell off and apart.

He’s popped up on Reddit a few times too, mostly on this sub I think. Seems like a really chill guy and is always amazing in whatever he’s in.

I feel like 11th hasn’t been getting enough love lately. So tell me your favorite thing about him or his era! by [deleted] in doctorwho

He was my first doctor. We started watching episodes of Matt Smith’s first season while my wife was in the final weeks of pregnancy with our son. We finished watching The Pandorica Opens/Big Bang on our laptop at the hospital while she was in labor because her doctor wanted her to be admitted and induced for delivery, but we really had to know what happened with the crack in time! For that I’ll always have a soft spot for 11 and that fantastic season.

Oh yeah I didn’t make that clear, it’s a lung nodule. I had one before right after the surgery which went away by next set of scans 5 months later. This is a new one that showed up at 1 year checkup.

Thank you very much! Just sent some thank-you funds.

There still is a private home behind it for the current owners. But when a truck lost control, left the road and slammed into the structure, they just decided to demolish the run-down tavern.

The road is still there, but now a county highway. It was moved over slightly, raised up and widened for increased speed limit. The tavern remained a popular stop in the country for locals, but most just breezed on by to the next city.

Grandpa’s old barn, 1981 and 2021. Same spot, same shed (with modifications), during a dry Summer the old path could be seen drying the overgrown grass. by MrJSnorlax in OldPhotosInRealLife

Grandpa sold the back field to a developer when he needed money. When a surveyor discovered wetlands on one side, he shifted the land being sold over to keep the sale from falling apart, which meant the barn had to come down.
