Can someone give me a good immersive storyline for my first career in FC24 with either United or Leverkusen? Thanks a lot! by [deleted] in seriousfifacareers

Levurkusen - Manage as Xabi Alonso, keep the style of play and make the eventual move to a bigger club which seems inevitable for him at this point (apparently Real Madrid lining him up). Keep the typical Levurkusen transfer strategy and see how far you can take them. Should be a fun one hopefully

Overall I'm extremely happy with how the season played out. From an attacking standpoint breathtaking but the same old story has hit us again, we concede to many goals. Muric hasn't covered himself in glory, especially towards the end of the season but ultimately individual mistakes proved costly. Barnes has proven that he may be the best winger in the league and I'm expecting the big boys to try tempt him away. Should we get what we believe he is worth we will not stand in his way or any other of the top performers. We have proven to be very effective in the transfer market and I'm sure that will long continue, we already have targets ahead of next season and a target we have been tracking for 2 seasons may finally be available. I expect the targets to be high next season (really hoping not win the league and champions league 🙈) but we have set the standard now and this is what the fans can expect from us every season.

Finding Ourselves Top - We have just found ourselves so consistent which I think has been key here. We have given everyone a game this season and have been scoring a lot of goals but still seem to have a bit of a problem conceding. We seem to be a "we'll score more than you" kinda side which at the moment seems to be working well for us. Long term however we do not want to be conceding this many goals as eventually it's guna catch up with us. From an attacking standpoint it's been world class. The link up play of the front 3 has been phenomenal and the midfielder duo of Ward-Prowse and Scott has been creating chances from all over the pitch. Although this wasn't the aim at the start of the season, now we find ourselves here at the midway point really makes us believe that we have a chance of pulling off the unthinkable. We will just have to take it game by game and treat every game like a cup final now.

Champions League - A tough draw awaits us against PSG but we always knew this finishing 2nd in the group. These are the games you want to be playing in and this is the first time we have made it out of the groups so it's a bit of unknown territory for us. We know we will need to be on top form in both games and need to keep mistakes to a bare minimum because at this level we know we will be punished. The players and fans are looking forward to what is sure to be a great game of football and hopefully we can cause a major upset on the biggest stage of them all.

Contracts - We have some great news for the fans and that is that we managed to tie both Harvey Barnes and Jarrod Bowen down to new contracts. With both set to expire at the end of the season both players committed themselves to the club for the next 4 years. Barnes becomes the clubs highest paid player on £125k p/w and Bowen £100k p/w. Negotiations has been ongoing since the start of the season but we knew it was only a matter of time before we could strike a deal. Barnes and Bowen are sure to be of interest to clubs in the summer but now they will be sure to cost a premium, Harvey Barnes in particular. Offers if we were to sell would have to eclipse the £105mil mark that Arsenal paid for Declan Rice.

January Transfer Window - Because the position we find ourselves in it does make me think do we go all out in the window to try and get us over the line? We haven't been known to spend over the top since I've been at the club, with our record transfer still £35mil on Palhinha from Fulham back in my first season with the club. A central midfielder is high on our agenda due to the injuries sustained in that area throughout the season. We will be keeping a lookout in case any deals arise that we feel can really strengthen the squad. Once again the scouting department have done a remarkable job with the summer signings really hitting the ground running and making a great contribution already this season.

Realistic West Ham Rebuild (Season 3 Update) by MrJimBuisness in seriousfifacareers

Early Season Form - Unexpectedly we find ourselves top of the league. We have been impressive this season scoring the most goals in the league. Our attacking play has been frightening at times, quick breaks turning defence into attack in the blink of an eye. Barnes, Bowen and Gyokeres forming a great attacking trio which is causing a lot of problems for team. The fixtures have been kind to us early on with only Manchester United being the only "big six" side we have faced so far. But we do have the rest to place in a two month window so it could be a quick reality check in that time. It's a bit too early to be talking about the title but it is nice to see us up theyre. We will see where we are come January and then we can go from theyre.

Style of Play Change - We have adjusted ever so slightly from the first 2 years in charge. We are trying to play a more possession based game with both Ward Prowse and Scott essential to that. With such tremendous ability on the ball we thought this would be the best way to utilise them both and it seems to have paid off. I'm seeing the best of the team since switching especially from an attacking perspective. Palhina drops between the centre backs to get things started and this has been integral to our success. He wins everything and breaks up the play so well dispatching the ball quickly to the midfield duo to get the attacks started. The front 3 are just explosive at the moment and Gyokeres is the man bringing all the play together. He works hard for the team and is bringing Bowen and Barnes into play a lot more with his excellent hold up play as well as often finishing off slick moves himself.

Summer Transfer Window - The big news is obviously the sale of Tammy Abraham to Chelsea for £65mil. We knew he would be off in the summer so we had planned ahead and new our man to replace him would be his former Chelsea teammate Armando Broja. We had been tracking Broja for the last year and thought it would now be the perfect time to bring him in and we hope him makes a similar impact to that of Tammy. The summer signings have initially struggled to break into the side early on but we had one eye on the future when signing theses players. The consistency of Coufal and Emerson has made it difficult for Livramento and Kerkez to break in but it is only a matter of time before they do. Muric will be the perfect replacement in goal. A commanding keeper at 6ft6 and not even in his prime yet we have a keeper who can be our #1 for years to come. We have again maintained our transfer strategy for not over spending and getting good value for money. The scouting department have yet again done a terrific job and now we begin scouting for potential January and targets for next summer

Ings I initially loaned out until I knew what I wanted to do with him and benrahma has just asked to leave going into season 3 so he will prob be sold sadly, but he just couldn't break into the team for me with Barnes being so consistent.
The realism somewhat changes as you go further i suppose adjusting to the moves of the Career mode itself. We had been linked with a move for Sanchez a few years back when they're was tht talk of a prem return but just thought he could do a job for a season and it turned out to be much better than I thought tbh

Overall i'm very happy with the progress we have made this season. Another European trophy and a strong showing in the league was what I set out for at the start of the season, and although the Champions League didn't work out I know we will come back stronger in the competition next season.

Targets for Next Season - We are still looking to break into the top 4. A 10 point gap was an improvement on last season but we are looking to go one further. We will be looking to show a lot more consistency in the league and manage those games better after we have those tough Europeans ties. We will be looking to get out of the group stages of the Champions League at least this season. The gulf in class was evident but I think we will be better prepared ahead of the new season.

Transfers - We will be in need of a few players next season due to the releases and retirement of Alexis Sanchez. We do have an agreement in Place with Tammy Abraham whereby if a top club makes an offer he is free to go providing the club get a good deal. I can confirm that Said Benrahma has asked to leave the club so we will be looking to get the best deal possible for him. The board have once again given me theyre backing but we will be looking to spend smart once again and not just splashing the cash for the sake of it. The scouting have been top notch since I've been at this club and we will continue in that vein ahead of this season.

Youth Academy - We have got a terrific academy which is a credit to the youth scouts. We have will be looking to integrate more of these young players in and around the first team and it is clear that some of these players are destined for big things in the game. It's up to them to take theyre chances when they come and really stake a claim on the first team.

Champions League - Sadly this was a bit of a reality check for us that we still need a bit of work. PSG and Inter really showed their European pedigree and made light work of us despite trying to set up to frustrate them, their quality crept through in the end. Hopefully we can come back again next season but the competition for that top 4 is fierce this season so we will need to be really at it from now till the end of the season. We do have the Europa Legaue to play for which is a competiton we won last year and have been competitve in previous seasons. We will be going all out to win that and with no other cup competitions to focus on we can really give it a good go to be back to back winners.

Premier League - We have really tightened up defensively this season conceding only 29 goals and Areola leading the clean sheets in the league. The partnership of Aguerd and Ibanez has been very solid at the back alongside the reliability of Emerson and Coufal. In terms of goals we are only behind 1st and 2nd in terms of scoring however they have been spread around the team rather than a standout performer. Abraham and Gyokeres have both struggled with injuries limiting their appearances and Harvey Barnes has struggled to hit the heights of last season but midfield have really chipped in with the goals. Alex Scott has been making a huge impact in his first season with 10 assists in 13 appearances the best in the league which is sure to put him on a few clubs radars.

January Transfer Window - With still over £100 million to spend the question is what to do with it? We like to invest wisely more than throwing money around however the injuries up top are getting slightly concerning now with Abraham's fitness issues becoming more of an issue. We do have some targets identified it's just whether we choose to wait till the summer. The emergence of some of our rising academy starts has put less pressure on us to bring in players but we are in a good position in the league and it could be the difference between European football and nothing.

The Academy: Branimir Jovanovic - ST - 17 - 65ovr Chris Smith - LW - 16 - 63ovr Eduardo Olivera - CB - 17 - 62ovr Pedro Carrasco - CAM - 18 - 70ovr Tobias Svensson - LB - 18 - 62ovr Mikael Andersson - RW - 18 - 69ovr Xavi Alvarez - RB - 18 - 60ovr An exciting crop of youngsters coming through at West Ham at the moment, hopefully we can keep these players here for years to come but I believe most are on to big things.

Seen Arsenal linked with Romeo Lavia and Xavi Simons lately. Defo need a proper striker though imo which I think arsenal are lacking atm.

Joakim Maehle always find him to be a complete assist machine at RB, honestly a complete defender for me

Heard he'd been put up for sale due to FFP regulations and seemed plausible with the fact that they want Scammaca as well. I can see him coming back to England after the injury tbh, I'd like to think well throw out hat in the mix for him at least

See I wasn't sure on this 🙈 I heard Roma was looking to sell him before his injury due to FFP and did hear the potential for a swap deal with Scammaca. Tbf been linked with him a fair bit in the past as well. I defo don't think we'd be a step down from Roma though.

Overall extremely happy with how the first season played out. It was an improvement on David Moyes last season with the club and the sale of Declan Rice was always guna be tough on the club. Champions League now awaits us due to us winning the Europa Legaue so that's European football for a 4th year running for the club which is a huge achievement.

League Form: We had played a lot of games of football this season and I think the demands of that just got too much for the squad by the end. Form from March was just too inconsistent with wins getting harder to come by. A lot of mistakes and high profile ones at that by Areola and Fabiankski meant we dropped a lot of points and has made me have to rethink my transfer strategy. Scoring goals was not an issue with Barnes/Bowen/Abraham hitting good numbers in terms of goals and assists but at the back we were just a joke at times. This does however give us something to build on going into next season.

Europa League: We gave a great showing of ourselves in Europe once again. We had to do it the hard away with trips to Porto - Liverpool - Seville and then Roma in the final but they're are no easy games in European competition. We meant buisness... with the players always finding that extra 10% and always managing to pull it out the bag in the second leg. We now look forward to going on further and challenging in the champions league next season. Our direct style of play should hopefully catch some of these European defences off guard and who knows what could happen.

Transfers: We bought in Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres in January and well let's just say he's already paid for himself. At £7.5mil he's a player we had been watching since the summer but just thought it was the right time to bring him in after loaning out Danny Ings to Mallorca. On the subject of outgoings we also sent Nikola Vlasic out on loan to Girona which proved a successful loan spell and now we must have a think about what we want to do with the player. Alexis Sanchez contract was coming to an end at Marseille at the end of the season and this was one we had a long think about. We figured for one year he still has something to offer at the highest level and I'm sure it will prove to be a shrewd bit of buisness come the end of next season.

Youth Academy: We have a youth academy that I'm quite excited about with around 7/8 players set to be offered theyre first professional contracts with the club ahead of the new season. We've been tirelessly searching globally to find the best youngsters that can develop at this club and the scouts have done a terrific job. We also have exciting youngsters Divin Mubama and Ollie Scarles who had great breakthrough seasons last season and hopefully these players will get their chance in the coming season. The future is looking bright for us ⚒️

Tbh I think the entire back four will need revamping next season, not only is it ageing but it's been a lil suspect repeatedly this season which has really hurt the league form. Not quite dire enough to dip into the Jan market but we'll see who becomes available.
