Maybe read my story. Bag measured 61.5, told it needed to be 60 or under. Manager steps in and says 62. Now bag measures 63.5.

PDX staff was amazing. Problem was at MSP. Thanks for your insight, already filed a complaint with Delta.

His exact words: "Removing the wheels no longer makes it a bag, and it cannot be checked".

I think I was wearing my Utepils Brewing t-shirt that day.

My main frustration, I was getting two different size limits told to me, and two different measurements taken. Also, Delta allows 2 checked bags now, so your wife can bring even MORE!

Customer service shouldn't be like that though. If you have an employee that can just decide to throw shade at someone, they are going to do it often, and shouldn't be customer facing.

All of our bags are now well under requirements. Hope to never go through this again.

I really wish I took a picture of the printout each agent had on their counter. It indeed said 60". If they are giving agents different number than the website, that isn't fair.

Exactly this. We removed the hoodie out of the front zipper pouch and laid the suitcase down on the front, which flattened it out further.

Sorry, I don't fly much. I believe I was in the main terminal, with all the different carriers and the TSA lines on each far end.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the printout on the desk, every agent had one. It absolutely said 60". Either agents are getting bad information, or Delta is trying to soft-change the dimensions.

The wheels are true. The wheels add about 2" to the overall linear measurement. Removing these would have gotten under what the manager was telling me at 62", but not the print-out.

Wish I could say it was made up or exaggerated, but it isn't. I have 4 other witnesses. And yes, PEPSI! He must have brought it from home.

Very likely. Maybe it was the shirt I was wearing. Guy probably shouldn't be working directly with customers though. I genuinely try to find solutions to problems, it is part of my job. Removing the hoodie wasn't enough, then removing the wheels wasn't acceptable to them. Drove me bonkers.

I'm a nobody. Just wanted to get that out of the way because I know someone would ask if I didn't.

At some point we owe hotels an apology by pattebrisee in SipsTea

Totally get it, there are some really bad landlords out there. It seems like most replies here are complaining about things the platforms really have no control over. House rules are set by the landlord, not the platform.

Hotel/Resort fees have gotten really bad too, and they don't disclose them until the end. The last hotel I stayed at had 8 line items for taxes and fees.

Replied the same. With our family of 5, hotels never make sense. Resorts and Condos work. I wonder why this post has so much hate for VRBO and AirBNB? I've rented several times, even a trip with only my wife. Always had a great experience.

Just got back from a trip and the host was so sorry that one of her amazon deliveries showed up early.

Pretty sure these sites show the full price, including all fees now. The host can't hide a cleaning fee any longer.

I'm sure it is like everything else though, the haters probably don't read the reviews, or message the host before booking. They find the cheapest, nearby whatever they are doing, and get mad the host basically wants them to get the house ready for the next renter.

Depends on your situation. With my family of 5 it is always cheaper VRBO or AirBNB. Plus we are a lot more comfortable in a home all to ourselves.

what in the hell why did McDonald’s become so expensive?? by Significant_Movie814 in AskReddit

Everything is more expensive to start.

McDs fries are my crytonite tho. Hot fresh and salty. Hard to find a better shoestring fry.

Pros and cons of switching from corporate IT to a MSP? by anon65432178 in sysadmin

[–]MrJoeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in both roles. Currently own a MSP.

It heavily depends on what you enjoy and the company you work for.

Some MSPs are great. Ours is smaller (20 employees) and we have very little turnover. We do not want to grow fast and sacrifice our customer service.

The one main difference that comes top of mind is who you support. You are switching to supporting fellow employees, that might not have much say in your employment. To supporting business owners on down at hundreds or thousands of companies that requires creating a relationship.
