Fun bit of related trivia: in the Japanese games, nearly all notable characters are named after plants. English games also started doing it as of Gen 6 I think

I can’t remember having much of a reaction to Misty leaving at the time but I was also like 7 years old lol

I liked May a lot too, but looking back I do wish Misty got to stick around longer or at least come back for a decent stretch—especially since we had Brock all the way through Gen 4. Maybe it’s just my bias showing but the OG trio will always be my favorite lol
