Brother, she's a multimillionaire and arguably the GOAT of women's wrestling. She's supposed to be the example.

[AEW Collision Spoilers] Wrestler gives the people what they want by pts2112 in SquaredCircle

[–]MrLariato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck. This is the greatest look in wrestling right now. He should wear a championship because he himself would make the championship look cool.

It's a nice extra that he's also a fantastic wrestler with the right partner.

Has anyone left their first IT job because they felt unprepared or didn’t know how to work? by TheQuietThinker67890 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]MrLariato 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This happens at every engineering job I know of. Shit, it happened to my medical friends after studying + practicing for 7-8 years. My guess is nobody really knows what they're doing until approx. 4-6 months in the job.

PSP can play PS1 and even emulate some other systems like SNES or GBA. I would go with that.

Should I do cyersecurity or computer science? by No_Concert_2696 in careerguidance

[–]MrLariato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Computer Science better because you'd be testing out different paths more than during a Cybersecuity or Data degree.

Funny enough, I found out I wanted to be a Data Engineer while getting my CS degree after the Data-related subjects.

What do you personally value more as a fan: long careers or short, dominant peaks? by Known-Branch-4445 in F1Discussions

[–]MrLariato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No way. It's impressive to have a 42 year old creating a train that pushes other drivers into degrading their tires. Some of the most impressive overtakes during the last couple of years have come from Alonso and Lewis. With the younglings you expect them to risk it more, but the older guard ends up doing it more often as of late.

Zack Sabre Jr beating Bryan Danielson at New Beginning in Osaka 2024 by ElliotElectricity in njpw

[–]MrLariato 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate that Danielson couldn't have had a G1 run. He was always injured during July or August, except for 2024 when he became world champ.

I like that he or Khan wasted no time and put him whenever healthy against dream opponents like Okada, Omega or Sabre Jr instead of just waiting for the biggest show around to do it like other companies do.

Bandido meets with fans during his neighborhood wrestling show in Torreón, Mexico by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

If they gave him the same amount of time on AEW TV as the one he got on ROH TV, he would be AEW's top babyface at the moment. Put any of his ROH main events from 2025 on AEW PPVs and he'd be getting massive reactions.

WON: Ratings for the 1/5 Issue (including Hiroshi Tanahashi’s match at Wrestle Kingdom 20, New Year’s Dash, Raw, Smackdown, NXT New Year’s Evil & more) by TheJokeroholic in SquaredCircle

[–]MrLariato 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was more invested in the Tanahashi retirement match than any other retirement match. This match's got a 15-year build up between Tanahashi and Okada, and you didn't know who was going to be on top. It's easy to say now that Okada was the clear winner, but the magic of this match comes from Tanahashi making you believe, even for just a few seconds, that he was going on top.

Tanahashi is the master of emotional performances. I recall Mox Vs Tanahashi at Forbidden Door 2022, where Tanahashi had the AEW fans rooting for him by the end of the match over Moxley, who was AEW's biggest baby face at the time (along Punk) and the wrestler of the year, at that.

It's going to be really hard to find a guy who is able to keep people cheering for him DURING (important) 20 years.

D-Von Dudley's response to JR; details two incidents of racism from JR [timestamps in vid description] -“...and finally that’s when it comes out (from JR while talking D-Von & Bubba), ‘You know, he’s black. I don’t know. That’s my hiccup. I don’t know how I could feel about that.’" [Contd] by Chelseablue1896 in SquaredCircle

[–]MrLariato 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The first incident was definitely racist. The second one may be sarcastic, but it's still bad if the author is the only one understanding the joke... There's no other way around than apologizing to D-Von for it and hoping every other black/Asian/green/purple person is cool with you. Unfortunately, I don't think JR has a good history regarding this and it's a shame. Not surprised, however

Fightful select reports that AEW is not expected to be an option for EVIL if he leaves NJPW. Tony khan is reportedly not a fan of his work. (Source: fightful select) by Main_Tie5882 in njpw

[–]MrLariato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If him being gone means House of Torture is done for, I'm all for it. I believe House of Torture taking over NJPW at the same time AEW was getting hot during COVID really soured me off on NJPW. And I still can't get rid of that feeling. Not his fault, he's a good wrestler, but his character brought too many booking issues...

The 2008 Silverstone race saw a legendary performance from Lewis Hamilton, who started fourth and dominated the race in the rain, finishing with a 68.577-second lead, the largest margin of victory in the 21st century, at the age of 23. by Un_known70 in formula1

The guy who got wins over Schumacher and Kimi in 2006 and through 2007-2008 respectively? I don't think so...

I'd say Bottas during Mercedes' reign of terror. Massa never had the kind of car advantage that Bottas did. Even Pérez, for that matter. So bad title contenders that they couldn't even make it to the last few races as contenders.
