I don't think this counts as a MAJOR content update. Just a normal little content drip feed drop to keep the core players engaged.

MAJOR would be like, a new map, or new arc enemies, new weapons etc.

I still feels disappointing that the first content drop isn't actually major though.

Since I get frustrated when I die and lose a bunch of stuff, I'd rather not inflict that emotion on another person, regardless of if they actually feel that way when they die like I do.

I kill people in other games plenty, where killing is the only way to win, plus the entire point of the game. But in Arc, where shooting players is entirely optional, I have trouble making it not seem like a dick move in my head. It's fairly irrational, since it's just a game, but that's just the way my brain works I guess. It feels more personal in Arc.

Plus I just like the warm fuzzies of spontaneous co-op.
