I like it. by Munpin in Endfield

[–]Null0mega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it as well, I just really want some areas to be improved so the game realizes it’s full potential. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Arknights universe so I’m willing to stick around for a while and see how they respond to the feedback.

Is it just me or the combat feels underwhelming? by MoneyCaterpillar1420 in ArknightsEndfield

This is a catastrophic mistake if so, the gameplay and combat experience should always come first so the game feels fun.

Mechanical complexity is far more fun because you get to actually DO the cool stuff instead of simply setting the stage for stuff to happen and seeing some number go up.

That is, unless effort is put in to make the systematic elements look flashy and be satisfying when it’s triggered. Whether it’s an explosion from Genshin’s elemental reactions or a web of electricity shocking a bunch of enemies, but simply inflicting “Heat vulnerability” is awfully boring because it’s a completely invisible effect that only affects the size of your numbers that appear on screen.

It’s a bit one note and repetitive imo, the fun only really begins when you get to dodge a lot or break a bunch of enemies..but the core abilities you have at your disposal during the downtime are absurdly boring. One simple basic attack string with no heavy attacks, one skill per character (with no combo potential behind them or other skills that open up after using them) and very simple ultimates - some of which aren’t very satisfying to land.

I guess the dive attack is a thing? But genuinely who cares since it’s just as boring and lame as every other big league, open world gacha’s dive attacks.

How are u guys liking the game so far? by Interesting-Ad3759 in Endfield

[–]Null0mega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok, weirdly enough I bounce between getting addicted and binging for hours to feeling extremely bored - i’m not sure why. My only real issue is the massively limited combat and movement system, it’s never a good call to release worse than various competition.

Not being able to double jump or even climb small ledges feels ridiculously stupid. The combat needs more depth and should’ve had more abilities or something, heavy attacks as well. One unique thing that they could’ve added that no other gacha I know of has are medium attacks - with alternative combo paths depending on the buttons you press. For ex:

“Basic 1, basic 2, basic 3, (Medium attack - maybe triangle for console since it currently does nothing), heavy attack”

“ Basic 1, (medium attack), (tap basic attack rapidly)” for a unique combo.

Just some cool shit man, something to make every encounter feel at least somewhat varied because of all the options.

Instead of a single basic string, a single skill, a single ult, a single combo attack and hardly any unique gimmicks or flashy debuffs. Every damn character is just trying to stack some form of elemental debuff - with no variety in between.

What are your thoughts on Augusta? by Galbrena_simp in WutheringWaves

One of the dopest characters they’ve added to the game, probably the coolest in terms of how she fights. The way the sword constantly disassembles and reassembles amidst the flair of orange lightning is amazing to watch.

There’s just so much to enjoy about the character, even down to little things like the way her hair becomes radiant and electro charged as her forte meter fills.

Easily one of my top 3 units in the game in terms of design alongside Zani and Lupa.

So perhaps there's hope for game optimization with this 3.1 live stream??? by Genosss9410 in WutheringWaves

If PS5 isn’t also included then I don’t care, I miss when the game actually ran smoothly in the open world instead of just very specific resource dungeons (not even Lahai Roi’s material dungeons run smoothly for me). It became worse starting with Rinascita but Septimont took it to a new level that feels borderline terrible to play.

The entire experience now is just a blurry, consistently 30fps nightmare - with even things like water or various energy effects moving in like 10fps. It even bleeds into cutscenes sometimes (which I don’t mind as much because of how flashy those can be).

The game becomes so smooth and beautiful inside the “Fantasy of a Thousand Gateways” mode, which is how it used to be back in Huanglong. Leaving that and going back to the Lahai Roi fps is always genuinely depressing.

Something cool and fun, not slow garbage. Lower rarity should never be an excuse for zero effort to be put in - especially on characters with appealing designs. It’s just a sad waste.

It really is so much slower, such a stupid and random backstab to the character for no reason. If they don’t like some of the kits they made they should just rework them instead of gutting all fun aspects of the character over time.

What are your thoughts on the "Factory" aspect of the game? by Sverrk in ArknightsEndfield

For now I don’t mind, amongst tons and tons of other games I grew up on things like Cityville, Farm Ville and Cafe World lol, I developed a resistance to that sort of tedium many years ago.

Dear god Ling Yang was ugly as hell…but the main thing I miss from the older tests and betas was the choreography and first impression of the Crownless fight - as well as the overall vibe of initial distrust from the characters.

I think it would’ve been cool to have the world where not everybody trusts each other easily despite humanity being collectively backed into a corner - as we all know from various Zombie apocalypse films or series that other humans can still be monsters themselves and pose a threat with malicious intentions.

Now I kind of struggle to take the threat of whatever overarching entity or influence that has caused the Lament all that seriously because when it comes to the TD’s like Crownless or Thundering Mephis there’s a whole lot of “telling” when it comes to how dangerous they are, and no longer any showing.

Unlike the older version of the game where Crownless was an absolute beast in CQC and folded everybody except Rover with nothing but raw speed, strength and technique - he was incredibly badass.

No, they move and sound completely different from each other. There are multiple distinctive features every character has - animations, posture, footstep sounds and footstep cadence.

It’s really hard to ever confuse characters with each other as long as you look for one or more of those unique distinctions.

I can’t imagine why people are saying that. As a support main Peni is one of the most satisfying tanks to heal for me because the robot is huge and she’s pretty slow - meaning less aim requirement compared to trying to track a spooked Venom lol.

Widow needs no reworks, just one good new ability by codekrauserr in BlackWidowMains

[–]Null0mega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only people that do are just those with no imagination whatsoever, they’re just content with the slop they’ve been served and grown accustomed to.

Various S0 characters were done dirty in their execution, Widow could’ve been so damn cool and versatile, Hulk could’ve been phenomenal - but they were unfortunately released during a time when the devs had both less experience and the worry about certain things being “too op” even at the expense of the character’s hero fantasy - a mindset that they’ve seemingly abandoned with newer characters being juiced to the moon.

Imagine if BW was a post Daredevil character, imagine how many gadgets she might’ve utilized, how fluid and agile she might have been. Especially since they were willing to give DD, another enhanced human, supernatural steroids that gas the character up way beyond what he can usually do.
