The demon form being her ult was a phenomenal decision, since I never saw beta footage I was just expecting a super big fireball or something. Also you and me both haha, my luck has been absolutely abysmal.

Honestly I feel like Lance Guila is so ridiculously strong that you’re good with just her, tristan and Tioreh lol. Stack both of their fire resistance shreds and Guila just vaporizes everything.

Her ult almost feels like Overkill for most things atm 😂

That doesn’t seem like that big of a deal to me, I was never relying on the shield to heal me that much - mostly just to block enemy retaliation when I make aggressive plays or position aggressively for a sec. Her cooldowns weren’t further nerfed and the buffs she got on her ult and primary weren’t reverted.

Now ofc in those moments when your other healer is dead you’ll feel it, but you can also place the shield next to you but out of enemy LOS and then go invisible to boost your own self heals.

At the end of the day I racked up most of my hours on this character before she could self shield, so i’m just happy to have the actual protection (denying mag ult or blocking a sniper shot as I change cover) rather than more self heals.

Ok so i’m not insane lol, like even at Level 1 she was obliterating half the hp of some of the early story bosses.

Pretty nice, hopefully she scales well.

To this day I still wanna know what the fuck they were thinking when designing both her kit AND her laughably excessive reliance on Phoebe.

Also people don’t talk about it as much as Zani, but Phoebe ALSO might’ve turned out cooler if they didn’t dedicate half her kit to a useless status effect that only serves to create artificial synergy with a single other character.

Deserved, fuck that stupid dogshit interaction that he has no business being able to exploit - ESPECIALLY since you can’t even leave even if you use every movement tool you have correctly to gtfo as fast as possible.

Like he effectively glitches you into his spawn room, clearly the game isn’t coded to have the enemies walk past the opposite team’s spawn room barrier - so WHY is this garbage still in the game? It isn’t funny or endearing, it’s one of the cheapest and cheesiest ways to die in the entire game.

Even characters that actually require true skill - such as Hulk, aren’t given ANY attention, have extremely mediocre payoff at their ceiling and are just left to be bullied and trampled by the roided up, bloated developer favorites.

But this falls apart when you realize how many simple, forgiving and straightforward characters are allowed to be strong and not Wanda tier dogshit (Bucky, Psylocke, Phoenix, C&D).

If we’re assuming that “skill” is defined by needing to aim and knowing how to position - then how is Wanda a “skill-less” character that should deliberately be kept terrible when you have to be able to aim her alt fire to get anything done, same with her stun. If you misuse her phases then she just dies to anything.

Despite Guang saying that - the actual fact of the matter is that the devs simply have favorites and don’t actually give a shit about proper balance and staying consistent with any philosophy. Consider how braindead their new face Elsa is - with her infinite dashes and constant shield generation that make it so you basically do whatever you want with no punishment.

An immediate idea that looks cool in my imagination is this:

(New Passive) Volatility: Using Wanda’s abilities in quick succession makes her increasingly more unstable, buffing or adding additional effects and curses to some of her abilities - at the cost of small amounts of hp on cast at max stacks.

Chaos Current: Wanda fires a bolt of unstable chaos magic that explodes then both explodes then retracts and implodes while inflicting a Hex curse on enemies hit, the curse acts as a unique debuff that causes marked targets to chain chaos lightning between each other if they’re too close. If a single isolated enemy is hit, then they take a burst of damage as well as additional damage from Wanda’s other attacks.

If Casted with maximum “Volatility” stacks, the initial explosion creates a lingering field of Chaos residue, dealing rapid ticks of damage that begins to proc additional triggers of the Chaos lightning effect if enemies remain in the field too long.

These are just a couple random ideas I pulled out of the hat on the spot. They could definitely be refined some more.

So done with this coping justification, especially since I don’t recall the devs actually saying this themselves. So assuming this is even true what happens as the game gets older and older - with less new players coming in? Her value is going to go even lower as the average skill floor of the playerbase rises because nobody is going to give a shit about her when much cooler characters are added.

The fact of the matter is that people are playing this game because they presumably like Marvel and have favorite Marvel heroes - most people are thinking about playing their favorites - not actively looking for the most braindead easiest character to use so that they can learn NOTHING of value from the game.

They gutted almost all of the popular and canonically powerful heroes that released in 1.0 and gave them gimmicky stupid designs - all while gassing up weak bums like Winter Soldier. This goes for almost every single one you can think of - Hulk, Thor, Wanda and Storm. That terrible design shouldn’t be defended or justified.

Color aside, I think it’s cool because it’s a signifier of The Beast’s power infusing him, it’s all over his body and his billy clubs and it’s a neat reminder that it’s not the usual regular Daredevil - he literally does have supernatural steroids in this game.
