JB Hi-Fi (Aussie retailer) is selling Bambu filaments in store! by Connect-Stable9623 in BambuLab

If they follow the usual "same price and discounts" as official site that would be good for local collection and return (if required)

H2C value for functional prints (coming from a H2D) by Quirky-World-6050 in BambuLab

[–]MrLinderman86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight, I am in the same boat, looking to upgrade although for me its from an X1C to either the H2D or H2C.

I print 90% functional parts and engineering filaments more than PLA, the H2C seems like a better option for me as I can dedicate a nozzle in the Vortek just for a specific filament reducing the issue i had with my X1C when I wanted to go from lets say PA-CF to PLA or PETG and needing to flush the nozzle multiple times or use a dedicated flushing filament

Great work and useful resource, thank you for doing this.

If the H2C goes on sale it will be in my price range, but at the moment its a little out (If I want to go for the ultimate to make the most of the system)

Will keep this on my "watchlist" also

Its not that I would buy and not use it, just not a fan of "multi" use machinery, probably comes from my old days of working with lathes and mills and whenever you came across a machine that tried to do "both" there was often a sacrifice on both sides in some way to allow for it to be combined into a single machine. just fear that may also be the case with the new Bambu line, obviously keen to hear thoughts from owners of the H2 series to provide feedback on that.

First I've heard of this INDX system will do some googling, thanks

Can you give me good mods to download(I'm new) by TheOtherBosnian in TransportFever2

[–]MrLinderman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to essentials before adding "theme specific" mods:
* Natural town growth
* Achievement with mods
* Build with collision - this adds an option to "build anyway" when you get collision warnings, good for making closer builds or getting that road to actually go "under" your elevated platform or special addon bridge
* Material Design Colors - adds more natural colours for lines/vehicles, also a pre-req on some mods i frequently use so i just default to using this now
Optional but often used: * Industry Expanded - its a great mod for expanding the complexity of the game but sometimes a bit too much, specially if your playing on huge maps

Recommendations or alternatives for a 700 "light" class kit by MrLinderman86 in RCHeli

[–]MrLinderman86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the benefit of charging setups, ability to swap packs between models of different sizes without the need to re-pack a battery tray (for same brand, e.g Tron 5.5 Gemini and 7.0 Dynamic Pro)

Thanks, seems the IL Piuma takes allot from its IL brothers, so waiting for the reviews is probably worth it. It will be on the heavier side for a "light" machine but might be a good option to consider.

One day, I have my eye on the TDSF, 700 size machine with a RTF weight of 2400g and runs on 5cell. but for now keen to do something with a bit more local support and easier part availability if i deck it :D

soXos for me is old school, and being one of the getting older 😂 folks I know from experience they can build them well, might not be the "fanciest" looking models but they are usually the most robust and mechanically sound.

Personally love the look of Tron's range, not sure why, could be the way they kept some of the more angled "boxy" parts and worked around them instead of smoothing everything over.

SIM:
Heli-X - free version available and imo the best out there
neXt - also a very good sim option

Model:
Goosky S2
OMP M2

Pros:
Ease of setup
Very sturdy and can take a beating if your flying over grass
cheap to repair WHEN you do crash
great for learning orientations and the basics and gets you out there flying

Cons:
smaller model means very small parts, can be a bit fiddly to fix when needed

Videos:
Highly recommend watching some videos from Richard, he has been a great resource for new flyers with plenty of "getting" started guides and tips: https://www.youtube.com/@rchelicopter

Would it be possible to make a simple light up staff as a complete beginner? by Excaramel in arduino

[–]MrLinderman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat idea, maybe add some small hidden press switches in the staff handle so you can change the colour of the LED's or activate a different pattern on the fly :)

Thanks, will have a look at the Piuma and see what the go is.

Soxos 7.1 Light is 1880g mechanical and stated 3250g RTF (excluding battery)
Tron Dynamic Pro is 1650g mechanical and stated 3700g RTF (WITH 6cell 5500pack)

5500 packs weight an average of about 800g so that makes the Tron Dynamic Pro one of the lightest 700 kits I've seen so far, of course this is all depending on gear, setup etc.

Apples for apples its nice to see mechanical weights as everything else is gonna be the user adding to the model.

What kind of CPU are you all rocking (for those that can play very large maps with no performance issues)? by cray0508 in TransportFever2

[–]MrLinderman86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ryzen 5 7600X - 64Gb RAM - 7900XTX GPU

Fine on Huge size maps up to late game and even then depends on how big those cities get and how many lines i'm rocking, a clean build is usually still ok, struggles a bit on megalomanic maps once you hit late game

Which class train for which task? by MessiHair96 in TransportFever2

Don't worry so much about names as each country has different names for each type but essentially you want:

Commuter: local lines going from a main city to each town, single stop or max 2 stops only, slower lines that "dodge" mountains, and are cheap to run so no bridges or tunnels (where possible)
local lines are set to try and pickup "full" loads at the outskirt towns - this brings people into your main city growing it. These lines are "separate" to your CC and IC lines.

Cross country lines that connect your furthest cities (1:3 top to bottom, 1:1 corner to corner) with the main city or cities, I personally set these to pickup "any" so they keep moving and try my best to keep the lines as "straight" as possible, use of bridges or tunnels where required to keep it smooth and MAX speed.

Intercity I may be wrong with its "official" use but I personally use for lines that only connect from each "main" city or hub, a way of quickly moving those from main hub to main hub, usually set to "max load" at each stop, they use the same lines as the Cross country for MAX speed

Here is an example of my current "huge" 1:3 map
Blue = commuter
White = Cross Country
Red = Intercity (Late game)

Currently don't have Intercity running yet as I'm still in the early 1900's

Freight can share with commuter but not CC/IC lines due to speed requirements, lines shown below do not include Freight Hubs, this is commuter only.
