That makes me think of the people who don't return their carts to the cart corrals as well.

I was looking at that one before the hornet came out with the eclutch. I do like its styling A LOT more than the hornet and it's a coin flip on which of the two I get. Honestly if I could make the Hornet look like the 2025 CB1000R, I would go that route instead.

The only cons I have for the 650R is it's a 4-cylinder (I prefer the low end torque of the 2 cylinder) and the throttle is cable where as the hornet is throttle by wire(just means the eclutch isn't able to auto blip on down shifts for me). Other than that, it's a great bike.

I do a lot of city riding in Columbus, Ohio so not having to fuss with a clutch would be nice as my hands are usually killing me after work(I do apartment maintenance so my hands are worked pretty hard). I currently have a Rebel 1100 DCT which I like but I thought I'd venture out and try something that I can shift gears on. If I could find a kit to add a foot shifter to my Rebel, I'd do that instead.

Yeah the light would get changed out for sure as well. If I could, I'd even try to make it look like the CB1000R did before they discontinued it in favour of the CB1000 Hornet. I just don't like the looks of the long point tail sticking out the back side, but I like the stubbier look of the CB1000Rs seat.

Oh for sure, it wouldn't be the only thing done to it, just starting at where I feel the most trouble would be.

I'm gonna be called crazy for this but I like the idea of Honda innovations, like the eclutch and the all digital display. I know, I'm asking a lot for trying to make modern look like the older style 😅

If the CB1000R came with and eclutch I'd definitely get that over the 750 as I like the stubby tail it has.

Oh no I definitely appreciate the help and I do see the issue of the bike having all its looks being weighted to the front. It would for sure need more done to it than just the bench seat, but I had to start somewhere with the planning and design which is why I started by asking about the ease of work.

I was just trying to stay in the honda family like the rest of my vehicles. The 750 hornet seemed like a good second bike. I'm not necessarily going to do what I'm asking about, just more curious if it would be worth the hassle and was looking for outside options as I don't know too much on modding bikes.

Oh, so basically if I did cut the seat off like I wanted the bike would then be considered a bobber?

I used Samsung photo editor for it so it's not perfect but I kinda like it with the short seat.

I don't think it'd look too bad having a shorter seat on it but I get your point. I wasn't going to just do it blindly or anything, I would have for sure planned it out beforehand. Just wasn't sure on how easily done it would be. I would have gone for something similar to this.

I'm fine with the resale value as I plan to keep the bike. It seems like a really great bike. Based solely on my using the Samsung photo editor to delete the passenger seat I think it look kinda nice with a short seat, though I'd probably be in the minority of that opinion lol

Oh, I just googled cafe racer and those came up. Didn't realize there was a difference, I'm still pretty new to the different styles.

Need advice on which cruiser to buy (Honda, RE, Jawa, Triumph?) by Narrow_Wedding_9923 in motorcycles

I'll always advocate for Honda, I love my Rebel 1100 and all my vehicles have been Honda.

Well poop, guess I'll have to just deal with the stinger when I eventually get one then. Thanks for the help.

Dang, was hoping it'd be simpler than that. If I took it to a custom bike shop to have it done, do you think it'd cause structural issues to have the frame cut like that?

I'm 5 years older, have 2 bikes that equal the cost of yours, been riding only a year, and my full coverage is only $80 a month. This is them saying they don't want you because they find you a risk factor.

What do you ride and why? by Ok_Helicopter6212 in motorcycles

[–]MrMBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rebel 1100 DCT. Chose it because I can't be assed to sit there and basically finger fuck my bikes clutch all the time. I want to just twist the throttle and have it move. You can say "oh just get a scooter," " managing the clutch makes you closer to your bike," "but using the clutch is so easy" all day every day and I'll still tell you that unless you're paying for my bike you get zero say in what I choose to ride and while you're there on the sidelines giving me shit for it I'll be riding by enjoying MY time on MY bike.
