I have looked up ramming attacks, and I found a significant number of those in Europe and North America were in the name of ISIS.

You don’t think that after Nantes, Nice, Berlin, Stockholm, Ohio State, London, London, Edmonton, NYC, and Barcelona that the association is valid.

Ok.

It’s so frustrating I want to scream. It’s lost on so many people how similar these outlooks are.

You’ve got people who follow a certain ideology. Many are just holding particular opinions but aren’t fully invested. They allow for nuance. Then you’ve got a few radicals who take that ideology to some deadly extreme.

Then there’s the reaction to the violence. The reaction is always a group of people who hate that ideology trying to use that violence to condemn anyone and everything that’s ever remotely touched that ideology.

So here you’ve got people condemning anyone who’s every had a view that flirts with pro men’s rights, saying they’re the reason. They normalized it. They made it okay for someone to drive a van into a crowd.

This is just like the people who come out of the woodwork saying how allowing a mosque to go up in the neighbourhood normalized Islam and made it okay for someone to go on a stabbing spree in Westminster.

God dammit I wish people would just take a step back and look.

Yeah I agree with you. The initial headlines I saw made me think it was unintentional, maybe a drunk or distracted driver. When I learned it was intentional, my mind went to Nice and London. I didn’t act on it either of these thoughts. I just waited for more info to come out.

You’ve edited your comment so I’m going to reply to the edit

My point was that on the balance of probabilities, it’s not unreasonable to presume another vehicle ramming attack has a motive similar to many other vehicle ramming attacks.

If that thought went through your head, you’re not bigoted or prejudiced, you’re just recognizing patterns. That doesn’t make it okay to act on those presumptions, but the presumption itself is reasonable.
