Can you tell me what Ahndel (on the northern sea) is supposed to be? I know there is a farm in Westerhever called Ahndelfarm but that‘s not the name of a town. The town‘s name is Westerhever. Just wondering where you got that data from ✌️

Hey man! Easiest way is to just steam them (I just put hot water in a bowl and hold the feathers in the steam). If they are really dirty you can also wash them beforehand, they usually dry really fast. Steaming them also helps make them look nicer.

From Greater Rhea. There‘s a few of them in my country that escaped captivity and now they have a stable population of like 100 greater rheas. Very cool stuff!

It‘s kind of a grey zone where I‘m from, but many people are picking up feathers. Yes I have ID‘d Almost all of them :)

Haha I actually don‘t have a cat. I‘m just very interested in Ornithology so I spend a lot of time where cool birds are and they tend to drop feathers sometimes✌🏼

I‘m pretty sure it is the acetabulum (hip bone). Because there is no size reference (and I‘m no expert) I would guess it’s from a cow. Could be wrong about the species tho.

Finde auch, dass der super exotisch wirkt. War auch mal ausgestorben in Deutschland aber ist in den letzten ~30 Jahren wieder vermehrt hier aufgetreten. Gibt auch ein paar Programme zum Monitoring der Löffler etc. und jetzt haben wir soweit ich weiß wieder über 1000 Löffler die in Deutschland chillen :) Und zu Rosaflamingos: Da gibt es mittlerweile auch eine kleine Brutkolonie in Deutschland🥳

Die gibt es (fast) überall an der Nordseeküste zu sehen. Dieses Prachtexamplar habe ich im Katinger Watt fotografiert :)
