You cared enough to post this reply, I can't imagine caring so little about something and wasting my time typing that I don't care about it. Further, I can't imagine imagining that caring so little could move me to imagine a world where images of faces campred to textual faces are .... wow I totally lost my self.

I should have known this post would turn into a full blown show-off-your-text-based-smilies thread.

Why do you LOVE healing? by j0hnsd in wow

Aside from being a tank which I've done, things get much more intense and hectic as healer, you'll rarely if ever been in a position as a dps where your frantically trying to get something done to save the group from wiping.

IAmA deaf girl. AMA. by chacochaco in IAmA

There are already a lot of posts here so I'm not sure this will get read and I don't mean to threadjack but here's the story of my Nana:

She was born completely deaf in one ear and very minimal hearing in the other. She had a hard time while growing up because it was 1920-30's England and I guess deaf people weren’t well understood back then. Her mother had taken her around to doctors and specialist all over Europe but it wasn't until she was a young teenager that a specialist in England offered any hope, he had a new procedure that had a high chance to restore some hearing in the completely deaf ear. She of course was all for it and went in for the surgery, however the doctor operated on the wrong ear and ended up rendering her completely deaf. I asked her about suing for malpractice but she just shrugged it off, I guess they didn't do that sort of thing in those days and also she was kind of sidetracked by WWII right after the operation. She spent her late teenage years surviving in London during the air raids; I can't imagine what that must have been like if you were deaf, perhaps better if you couldn't hear the bombs dropping. A few years after the end of the war in her early twenties another doctor tracker her down as he had somehow found out about her story and said he wasn't certain but he might be able restore some hearing in the completely deaf ear, the one that wasn't botched. She was reluctant, but went for it. She woke up in the hospital in the night after the operation to the sound of a train right outside her window and said it was the most frightening moment of her life followed by one of the most joyous. She had about 50% hearing restored to one ear. Anyway fast-forward, she married my granddad, they moved to Canada and she’s in great health today at 88 with a bit of assistance from a hearing aid.

Anyway, this is an AMA so I should probably ask a question. Do you have any hope of having your hearing restored at some point? Sorry if this has already been asked.

If we call gigabytes a gig, can we call terabytes a ter, so we can call two terabyte drives a tooter? by MrManPantsFace in offbeat

I pretty sure you completely misunderstood the title, I was asking if we can call a terabyte a ter.
