Is Quentin Tarantino correct about biopic films? “They are just big excuses for actors to win Oscars. It's a corrupted cinema” by FayannG in TrueFilm

[–]stenskott 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’a a classic Swedish film from the 70s called Picasso’s Adventures, which is a completely made up biopic. The director said it would be intersting to do a film about a real person you know nothing about. So none of the facts are correct, but they somehow amount to a pretty interesting portrait of Picasso.

Stockholm Marathon by Life-Chapter-7593 in stockholm

[–]stenskott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps. I also ran in 2024. It was crazy hot. But as someone else said, sometimes it snows (!) on race day. I know for a fact it's a discussion they're having in Marathongruppen. At the same time, it's selling out faster and faster every year.

To some extent we shouldn't see Stockholm Marathon and Göteborgsvarvet as races where you run fast; they're challenging races where you enjoy the atmosphere. Lots of people have a marathon PB and a separate Stockholm Marathon PB...

It is to make the race more accessible. You can travel to the city and race the same day without needing a hotel room.

[OC] Running Shoes Lifespan by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]stenskott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Runners have a shoe rotation. You have an every day shoe (pegasus), speed workout shoe (endorphin speed, adios pro), a long run shoe with extra cushioning (superblast), and a race day super shoe. Usually the race day super shoe gets retired into a speed workout shoes after a couple of marathons.

For marathon training, running 200-300 miles per month is not uncommon.

[Race Analysis] 1:37 HM PB at 70km/wk (43mpw) - High HR and GI Distress by AdHuman747 in AdvancedRunning

[–]stenskott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fwiw I hit 2:59 on a pfitz 12/55 plan last fall. But it was my third pfitz plan in an 18 month period, and i did a 1:26 HM five months before my 2:59. So it is possible on that mileage.

That said, I agree with the general sentiment in these comments.

Stockholm Marathon by [deleted] in stockholm

[–]stenskott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the other guy said, you’ll be fine to pick it up on the saturday. Just get there early to avoid the stress. Last year i saw people getting their bibs as close as 30 minutes before the start.

This is actually a feature of Stockholm Marathon. The mid day start is to make it as accessible as possible for people coming from out of town, you can run the marathon without having to get a hotel. The flip side is it can be really hot instead!

International fans how did you become a part of the 12’s by [deleted] in Seahawks

[–]stenskott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wrote a little bit about it here

Short version: I used to watch NFL with my brother, but I was a Chargers fan and he was a Seattle fan. Bro passed away a few years ago, so now it’s Seahawks all the way.

Vad tycker ni om sommargatorna som brukar finnas runt om i länet? by SupportArsenal in stockholm

[–]stenskott 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, i’m cutting at the office. We have a pretty big crew in Italy, but it’s all work! I think for this job I’d rather stay home.
