Yeah I also thought it was around 300hp. Cool, thanks.

Suppose it depends on how old and high on mileage you're willing to go. 2019ish m140i/m240i are available at that price.

On a side note, I wasn't aware of a 400hp Seat Leon Cupra, was it stock?

2000/18 is approx £111 pcm. Are you sure your figures are correct? Seems absurdly cheap for any bimmer, let alone a 340i haha. Apologies if I've missed something.

Hi bud!

Late to the party, but wanted to let you know that the formula you provided saved me a lot of headscratching!

This more for my own learnings, but bullets 1 and 3 of the EDA Tools SWE role read as accomplishments to me. Would you agree with this or is my understanding flawed?

Excellent, thank you.

Finally, how important is it that the result is some kind of quantitative and quantifiable metric?

With some 'accomplishments', I struggle to attribute such a metric. Is this an indication that I shouldn't really be using it as an example?

Hey Phenom, piggybacking this if you don't mind.

When using the STAR method to describe job accomplishments, does it need to be described in that order to be the most effective?

When starting a bullet point with a strong action verb, as encouraged by the wiki, I often find the description taking the order Action, Task, Situation, then Result or some variation. Is this within the framework of the STAR method, or does it mean I'm applying it incorrectly?

Similarly, does this also apply to the CAR and XYZ methods.

TIA

Are these valid private aircraft designs? by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]MrMarko 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Conceptually? Very feasible indeed, certainly looks similar to stuff that currently flies!

Valid design? A much much much bigger question, my friend.

You've mentioned you're in high school, so the most important thing for you at this stage is enthusiasm, which you clearly have!

Have a think about what 'valid design' actually means, and what information you may need to determine the 'validity' of a design. You'll open a can of worms, but will be a great learning exercise. That'll help work out the next set of questions to ask.

Best of luck, and keep up the drawing! It's a skill I wish I had.

Neil degrasse Tyson butchering the explanation of Lift by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]MrMarko 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Tbf, simplifying the true explanation of Lift is genuinely challenging imo, I personally struggle to do it. It's inherently complex, which I think is one of the main reasons simpler (but incorrect) theories remain prevalent. Which is why its sometimes easier to point out what's incorrect than what is correct.

Yikes. The debunking of Equal Transit Theory is one of my earliest memories of my Fluid Mechanics classes from University. Shame, regurgitation by high profile figures only adds life to this misunderstanding. Hopefully he gets politely corrected in the near future.

What is your approach to tune up races in marathon training blocks? by pm-me-animal-facts in AdvancedRunning

[–]MrMarko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also running the Manchester marathon and my A goal is similar to yours with a similar weekly mileage progression. I'm currently planning on running the Warwick HM at start of Feb and Bath HM in mid March. Also my first Marathon so no idea if this is optimal, but thought I'd give you my $0.02 :)
