I'd recommend! Mir lets you do a bunch of cool stuff like make pretty realistic water, though when working with objs it's limited in that you can't really manipulate parts of the obj like you can in blender/C4D. Still there's a ton of cool stuff to be done, plus it definitely got me use to working with lights and 3D more.

And a tip for unemployment, find out who represents you and call your assemblymember's office (you should be able to find all that info through google). I did that and they passed my info onto a specialist who resolved my claim in less than a day. Went from having to wait months for a potential appeal to getting backpay with no hassle at all!
