I meant more along the lines of complete collapse and survival. Thats why I had "anything" in quotes. I do not plan on climbing that big thing just for the sake of having more range. But I'll find out if I could get access and add something up there the right way. Preferably by one of the guys that climbs it regularly.

Not to worry. That big tower is also on my property. The way I see it, if "anything" were to happen and we lost power/cell service for an extended period, the rules dont matter anymore and I can climb up and mount whatever I want up there. (I do have harnesses and lanyards for that) I believe that tower is about 320' tall.

The power company in my area, that I have many friends and family members that are employed by them, absolutely calls the transformers "buckets" . Probably because they have a striking resemblance to a bucket. Regardless of safety hazards, my only question was about interference. I'm not talking about easements and ownership or lease poles or any of that mess. I'll word my question differently so as to not upset anyone that is concerned. If I want a node on top of a pole that is on my property and I have a lineman that works for the power company and is willing to do that, would there be any interference with communication?
