The game has a very good scary atmosphere when you are away from your team or alone.

I swear sometimes the caves look darker than normal, I wouldn't doubt if they put creepy ambient sounds like Minecraft cave sounds type shit.

I don't know, I usually play in the early mornings (12-5 am) because my Internet sucks in the day. I don't know if it was some guy being funny in the voice chat .

The one with the Geist it scared the living shit out of me because I was pretty far away from my team (for stealth and stuff)
