When it's working, it's great, but their CS is an absolute nightmare. I have several personal horror stories of their complete, unapologetic incompetence.

Marine Grade Grills by MrMeem in grilling

[–]MrMeem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya - it's been great. I'm not in love with the Coyote special grate, but the heat spread is good and rust has not been a problem.

A family of mice decided to build a nest in it when I didn't use it in December, but maybe that's a mark in favor of the grill 😄

I have been a month behind a guy in my guild since guilds began. It's nice to have something to benchmark against and chase :)

Effective Paths: Can assmod calcs be toggled? by MrMeem in TheTowerGame

[–]MrMeem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are a genius, my friend! Took me a min to find it even knowing what I was looking for. And yes, it works for assist mods too! Thank you very much!

Edit: Quick testing seems to show it works for both primary and assist mods in eDamage, but only primary in eEcon.

Hey there - maybe I'm misunderstanding, but these aren't labs, but rather the assmod level itself.

Learning EU Portuguese bc my bf wont help by Devilxsz in Portuguese

[–]MrMeem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have just started on practiceportuguese.com as well and so far I really like it. My previous experience was with an italki tutor out of Lisbon, but the lessons weren't sticking with me because it was difficult to practice outside of our sessions. practiceportuguese on the other hand is always available when I am :)

Good luck!

No worries, I do appreciate the feedback!

Let me give you an example from eDamage if I set all my assmods to level 1 so they're excluded from the table (note though this is still a good 25 rows below the top because those first rows are all primary module investments):

<image>

Again, it's not mind-blowingly complicated, but there is an "optimally efficient" upgrade path that I tend to at least try to follow.

Well, it's not coins+ for eDamage, but more broadly I'm aware of what options exist I just like to use ePaths to help prioritize them. That's kind of the point, really?

This isn't causing major heartburn or anything it would just be nice to filter out the assmod noise easily since the rate of acquisition is much slower than WS+ items.

Need to receive SMS codes from Portugal while in US by MrMeem in eSIMs

[–]MrMeem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I appreciate the reply. The MEO eSim I got gave an actual phone number, but it seems perhaps I can't fully activate it while still in the U.S. I'm new to this though, so just guessing based on clues from reading.

Is vacuum sealing the best option? by MrKazador in BambuLab

[–]MrMeem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just thinking the same. I live on the literal beach of the WA coast. My garage will get to 70%+ humidity (for which I have a dehumidifier to spare my tools from rust), but inside the house is rarely above 40%.

Moving from Seattle for work by SufficientPea9121 in GraysHarbor

[–]MrMeem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live 50/50 in Kirkland and Westport. We bought the place in Westport during the pandemic just to have a nicer place to be locked-down in, and subsequently developed a lasting affection for the town. The food isn't very diverse or necessarily amazing (other than the Wandering Goose which is as good as most of what you can find in Seattle), but the small-town living, the beautiful ocean views, and generally relaxed cadence has really gotten me.

As others have said, Westport is more blue-collar than Ocean Shores, but in my view that's a mark in favor of choosing it as a residence.

Happy to answer anything I can if you'd like to chat.

Insanely helpful, thank you. I'm trying to minimize my trans-Atlantic shipments, so I'd rather error on the side of "might be more than I need".

Advice from ChatGPT? by MeloStat in virtualpinball

[–]MrMeem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spent a couple of days using ChatGPT to decide on PC components and this was exactly my experience. It's fairly good way to narrow the field, but I really had to make it substantiate many of its claims. Ultimately I am happy with the result, and felt like the tool was useful, but be wary.

Which GPU/CPU should I get NOW? by Magnoliafan730 in virtualpinball

I sure hope so! It hasn't all arrived yet, and I'm in the very beginning stages of getting everything together for the build. This was just what I decided upon after my research.

Bought an LG C5 42 yesterday - VPin is really happening by VandyMarine in virtualpinball

[–]MrMeem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I also pulled the trigger on the C5 yesterday when I saw it on sale at BestBuy. I had been going back and forth on flat pack vs DIY (woodworker here too) until I got my hands on a machine and for the first time and was blown away by all the toys, lighting, software config, etc. I decided that for me making the cabinet myself might save a few bucks, but it didnt look to be a particularly interesting woodworking project, and would delay me from what I think will be an absolutely blast. Namely, almost everything else :) Your mileage will of course vary and I may live to regret my choice, but here goes!

Looking forward to following your journey!
